Well guys it looks like we have missed it which I'll admit I'm dissapointed about, I know it's in a few days but the whole point for me was to attend as a club. I am one of these new members that you keep refering to and I was hoping to have met some more of you, granted initial interest was a bit weak but there were a few numbers.

It's only my two cents but I've found that once you get someone willing to organize it, then a few of the regular guys agree to go then more usualy sign up.

I look forward to the next SW event :thumbs:

I wasn't able to go anyway :( a) internet and computer problems so I'm only just online now and b) issue with the car. The bootlids slightly ferschickered and is awaiting repair.

You dont need to be a rep to sort a show out if you really want to go :nod: If you want subsidising ask and I will sort it for you :nod:

People really do like to moan that things dont get sorted, but never want to do it themselves? When things do get arranged, everyone pisses and moans its not on there door step and dont show up anyway :rolleyes:

We would have had about 5 people turn up for devon car show if that.

When we last went and really plugged it on here, we turned up to a stand a little bit bigger than half what we booked, which was not cool IMO and doesnt really scream come back now does it.

Now I have a choice between organising events where nearly 200 people turn up and have a really awesome time, only 2 including me from the SW may I add :rollleyes:, Or I can spend time organising for a show where 20 people will say they will go, and only 5 turn up :(

Clouder seemed to have it in hand to be honest mate. I would of been happy to organise it. To be fair Ross even offered to organise the event in the original thread but that was overlooked :(

I am in exactly the same position as Terry; I am willing to organise events from time to time but can't commit to a rep's job. IMO that role is for someone that can organise events for members on a reasonably regular basis and certainly be in attendance for more than 75% of them.

I understand your national event commitment, which is a real credit to yourself and a great help/promotion for the club as a whole, but the Sou-westers, like most other areas, wait for organisation of get-togethers from their designated reps. Maybe in this instance better communication between yourself & Clouder was called for. :thumbs:

3 of us attended as we still wanted to go. It was a shame we had to spend £8 instead of a subsidised figure though. :indiff: It was clear there was initial interest - the Devon Car Show thread attracted over 100 posts regarding it (not just whinges!) :wack: I, for one, chatted to a couple of guys with SXs at the show and tried to get 'em to sign up with us. :) :sxoc:
