Can any of you nice helpful chappies tell me if a Janspeed backbox will go on a bog standard exhaust?
It was gonna be a full system, but unless anyone has a second hand one this is now out of the window - the bottom end rebuild ended up + oilpump and clutch and we're wiped out http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Probably not much help, but, the Janspeed back box for an S14 bolts straight on.

Ive got a Janspeed system on mine, I must say its not very robust and it looks in dreadful shape, and its only just over a year and a half old! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Fitted a Janspeed Cat' back system this February - improves driveability enormously compared to the standard exhaust ('94 L S13).
In discussions with Simon Norris, he says that the Janspeed is fine up to 350 BHP, after which you must fit something like HKS.
If you have the dosh, go for an HKS now, the Janspeed is mild steel and will rot, but its a lot cheaper. I'm saving my cash for the engine upgrade.

I have a Janspeed too.
Made a big difference, and has a nice raspy sound up top.
However, it looks like its rusting away and I've also only had it on for just over a year
They do give a 3year Garauntee though, which I'm hanging onto just in case it falls apart.
perfect excuse to stick a HKS Jobbie on

I also got a Janspeed exhaust.
Sounds good, quiet at low RPM but great noise when giving it some beanz !
But like the other two posts said aswell they rust BAD. I got mine done in December and it looks like its been on for years. Rust is literally flaking off it already near the back. Even after two weeks there was bad surface rust. I couldn't believe it. I dont think they put ANY protection on them.
Hopefully when it starts blowing (a few months) I'll get it replaced FOC.

I've got an HKS Hiper Muffler. Personally wouldnt go for anything else. The noise is fantastic, it will last forever (ive had it for nearly two years and it looks as it did the day i put it on), the gains in bhp are very good and best of all it spits 3 foot flames!!!!!!! The money you spend will mean you never have to replace it, then again i suppose it depends how long you keep the car.
Totally on board with that, i have a HKS hiper muffler after seeing and hearing it on andyf's first, haven't seen anything better, fantastic noise and so much road presence, gets massive looks from other drivers as they all stop and point and i get no end of questions about what it is and where it came from, different to ur usual stuff...worth the money in my opinion...by far...

You're right about people looking and pointing, they never stop. mind you it is pretty big. absolutley agree though the noise is stunning, especially when driving through tunnels, wicked!! Makes the car sound 1000X better. Do you get flames from yours???? usually you get told on track days or from your mates.
