I'm on the campaign against pointless speeding fines again.
Just got my mate off two camera fines so I'm on a roll at the moment.
Now, heres the question.
As I understand it the police are not supposed to break the law without good reason. So if you are speeeding at 95mph they can break the limit in order to catch you. But if they are late for lunch they should be abiding by the speed limits.
So what is the score regarding parking on hard shoulders and slip roads of motorways.
For you an i it is illegal except if you break down. WHY - because it endangers other peoples lives.
So what happens if the cops are parked up in order to measure speeds. That is endangering other road users lives needlessly. They could use a designated parking bay or a flyover.
I am sure there was some stuff in the news recently about the ACPo saying that they couldn't do this sort of thing. I need to find it.
I am working on a case where a copper did this and would like to look into a private prosecution against the police officer for breaking the law. He conveniently wrote it in his statement.
Anyone know what the score is regarding this sort of thing
