Ladies and gents, we've already got the media and thanks threads:thumbs:.

Let's have some of the stories in this one. Please share your favourite bits of the weekender here:sxoc:

My favourite moment has to be winning my own prize in the raffle :wack:

(didn't arrive until Saturday afternoon and then had an early night as I was shattered, so I didn't really see much :o)

Actually, just seeing a post by 200Essex reminds me that my meeting him went something like this :-

Wotcha Cluck, you alright?

And you are who, exactly?
:wack:

Sorry fella :o . I think I was chatting to Danielle at the time and I genuinely had no idea who you were :o . I blame the stresses of work :D

Gotta give a mention to sparkyhx on Saturday night and his amazing wardrobe changes for various unmentionable reasons :D

Also the general concensus that "Algie is a cnut, when the crowd says bo selecta". Classic :D

I don't know his name, but the anchor-man for the Scottish (IIRC) tug-of-war team drew a huge cheer for not losing his cool in one of the heats. His trousers, yes, but not his cool :notworthy :D

That was Sparky as well dude  He was anchor on the Northern team. Oh and that story is one of the fails I have recorded in glorious HD to share with everyone in due course :D

Memorable moments: Everything! Weekend of win with the best car club in the world...again! :sxoc:

Apple lost the grudge match. So fan boi's can now just shhh! Got a problem, take it up Daz :D

My personal fails this weekend.
1. Falling out of the bouncy boxing (also have video)
2. Our backbox coming loose and then adrift at a 'totally legitimate" speed on the M1 100 miles from home :annoyed: Stopped safely (dunno how it stayed on the hangers!) Then pulled it off and drove home a little noisily and staying off boost so as not to melt the rear left rubber :wack:

Hope everyone else got back okay. Especially the two casualties of the day :(

two mentions already - and HD evidence oh dear - I also came away with a cracked/broken rib as well. Not one of my finest moments............or maybe it was?!

1. Taking JP up the hill after having already done maybe 20 runs, and coming very close to spinning approaching the Esses, the only near miss of my day... but held it :D

2. Car took the abuse all day, it loved it... until the trip home where my other supercharger tensioning pulley appears to have given up, drove home with SC bypassed, but made it in 1 piece :D Cable ties FTW!

The scottish tug of war team were wearing kilts and too busy winning to be dragged gracefully across the field, however I was the scottish teams anchor.

There was GT4_Baz and the chilli sauce on Friday night, he didnt realise he was only meant to take a drop from the straw - he had the straw-full, then after realising his mistake was offered the chilli vodka to "wash it down" with pmsl he was still moaning about his lips being on fire on Sunday. :D

Dr Bob

got a wee bit of time to post properly now:)

Highlights for me - Dlowe lumbering around the site on Friday night - seemed to reach a point of utter wreckedness, but stayed at that level for hours - i lost count of the times i said - 'is he still going'

Sparkyhx's performance on Saturday. starting off with his trouser accident in the T-O-W, then mixing both cocktails with his bacardi resulting in a curdled mess which he then downed in about three gulps. iirc that was the trigger for the wardrobe changes:wack:

Deacs S13 toilet taxi:notworthy - surreal moment seeing amongst others our glorious chairman being transported around the site in the open boot of an S13

car geek Jon's quiz team's answer to who founded Cosworth - Keith Duckworth and Mike Austin, and Jon explaining it was a 'typo':wack: and of course the subsequent medals of win for our stunning quiz performance.

and another surreal one, which is still making me smile - Deacs appearing at the NW circle on the Saturday - 'Bob, Bob - do you want to join the smily knee club'.

my smily knee has faded slightly as i have washed since, but it's still there. i showed it to Rosie (our 2yr old) this morning - 'daddy's knee has a face on it' she announced:D meanwhile Mrs B was less impressed, asserting that there was a risk i'd get blood poisoning:wack:

edit - how can i forget buying 2 buns from the actual BenTaylor in a fetching blonde wig, seashell bra and hula skirt combo. best bit was seeing him give the hair the 'l'oreal flick' several times - he was obviously loving it;)

One of the most entertaining parts of the weekend was Saturdays Gladiator style contest and the legendary commentary from Algie and Docwra etc :D

I genuinely (sp) though I was going to need a ambulance and wake up blind when i got that in my eye..

(its about the only thing that isn't blurry from friday night) and a big thank you to Mrs Def I believe who fixed my eye with some magic whichcraft special sauce in a bottle she squirted in my eye and made the pain calm down (I wont say go away because it was still stinging in the morning!)

Not really got any epic stories...Saturday night was excellent though, until i turned round and realised that no-one i knew was still dancing. At that point i thought i'd go for a wander only to be told by Matt_S that i wasnt allowed to leave! I decided that considering he invented music and dancing, i best pay homage and stay a little bit longer!

I'm glad i got involved in the activities, although being thrown off the gladiator game like a rag doll wasnt the most pleasant experience...and neither was the armpit roap burn from the TOW! But if i will insist on being a dumbarse and not wear a Tshirt, then i guess i deserved it really! :wack:

Blimey,

What a corker

I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open but it was well worth it. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves this weekend.

Favourite bits for me were;

Jez getting violently drunk and failing miserably :D

Foraging for fire wood with Giblets at 3 o'clock in the morning.

Firey limbo and very inappropriate jokes with the hard core in the marquee last night

Loved the hill runs, Madda and Fry are too quick for their own good

Dr B's Jaaaaaag

Ken

Ninja's tent of much rockness and JP's smoke machine

The kebabs on Friday, Cornwall osrted all the food out for the weekend and deserves a nighthood for coming up with that one

Slapping Jules in the face with a cake

The tug-o-ar and the amazing dropping trousers :D

Scots with war paint

Deacons gorilla face going up the hill

"I'll call you later" and Carli's Thumper sign

So much more I want to add but that's enough for now.

I can't tell you all how chuffed I was to get the outstanding contributions award, I honestly don't think I deserve it but I'm thrilled none the less.

Just to give you all an idea of the sort of commitment Channie puts into the event when I left him at 11am this mporning we had nearly finished loading the rental van with all the club equipment which took about 10 of us over an hour to get in.

He's got to drive that home, move ALL of the contents to the now stationary club van and then return the rental van before he can go home and relax like the rest of us.

Channie, you may bite pillows for fun but you're a legend mate. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen (I had nothing to do with it this year) and thanks to those who helped clear up today.

The SXOC Weekender is, wihtout a doubt, THE BEST event on the calendar

The chilli was epic, I hate spicey food but thought it would be ok. It wasn't. At all!

Also, being dazzled by the sun and driving the Cerbera into a post must have been a highlight for the 10 or so people I did it in front of!

I wouldn't say "made a tit of yourself" (apart from when you were dressed as a pink haired cake selling tranny, lol) I just thought you're a generally funny guy :)

When you first turned up, you came over and made us all laugh, and after your first few sessions on the hill you had some sort of leak, but still carried on until something fell off.

Did anything fall off in the end?

Too many to remember (or should that be too drunk to remember)? :D

Mine and Dobergoose's "victims" kept me entertained all weekend - DLowe was the best, but there were at least 4 others. Steer clear of the special cigarettes in future chaps :D

JP was constant amusement for me - as soon as he finished chatting to one group, rather than walk off, he would literally sprint off to find more entertainment :D

Joematose on Saturday night was one of the funniest things Ive ever seen. Im so glad I stayed up and had another couple of beers - me and Stiv were literally crying :D

Stidi's near miss (which Im sure he will document elsewhere) was astonishing - there were 10 of us on both sides of the track that would have put our houses on him hitting the armco but somehow he got away with it. His face was a picture, but not as good as Kierans in the Ginetta :D

I've already put up an appeal for pictures / vids that anyone has as so far I've only got the in car vid from matt (which i've not seen properly yet as he's not uploaded it anywhere) and the pics and track walk of the aftermath... as detailed HERE (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=5396239&postcount=15)

I still don't know how I caught it but i've no doubts if i'd have done anything even slightly different after getting it facing the barrier i'd have had a big crunch. open diffs FTL!

I'll have to take a pic of the damage (that i didn't notice the first 2 times I looked!) :D

you can see from the front wheels and rear wheels coming in a fair while later I reckon i was getting on for 60 or so degrees of angle at one point, just a bit scary when i was still moving at 30+ with a thin strip of grass between me and certain dooom!

i'd love to know how fast i was going and what sort of angle I was getting :D

Schumi crashed about 10 meters earlier as we saw the broken glass. a few of us took a stroll up there and CSI'd the aftermath to see what had happened and see how close i was to disaster. we were all in agreement that those were my fronts / rears and that I was bloody lucky!

the fronts started off about 80cm or so apart, and widened out, indicating the car coming in sideways and straightening as the back came round and the bumper glanced off the barrier

What was the green shrek drink made up of?

I went up for some bbq chicken and half hour later after a few shots of shrek, bubblegum, vodka slush puppies and then got introduced to red skettles vodka, which was also the receipe for joematoses award, i was a right off with papers. Great stuff

That red skettles vodka had a few victims after a shots game near the end of the night, which led to some peeps getting cable tied to chairs they passed out in, and two lads chasing and carrying a girl around the camping area, which didn't look a bit suspicious :wack:

Lol that would have been me and Jules trying to get my mrs (Debbie) back to my tent, she wanted to carry on partying despite constantly falling over, it to about an hour to finally get her in the tent, one of the funniest parts of the weekend was Debbie running off between some tent me shouting at her to stop because she will trip over the ropes, she shouts back "no I won`t" and immediatly goes flat on her face over said ropes:wack: picking up a bit of a fat lip in the process:rolleyes:

Too many to remember (or should that be too drunk to remember)? :D

Stidi's near miss (which Im sure he will document elsewhere) was astonishing - there were 10 of us on both sides of the track that would have put our houses on him hitting the armco but somehow he got away with it. His face was a picture, but not as good as Kierans in the Ginetta :D

OH, just remembered something i found amusing in the shower just now :wack:

Gave doc some original source XXX Black mint spangley super awesome tingly 3000 shower gel in the showers

all I could hear was, Deac you bastard! " my boys feel like there on fire!"

:D

I was outside getting dressed after getting out the shower and all I heard was you saying to Doc, 'does it make your asshole tingle' at which point I fled in fear.

She's met Deacon enough times before to be unsuprised :wack: - That moment probably started the chain of events which ended with me hearing Algie on the bullhorn, calling for me to 'stop bumming men and come out of what ever tent you're in' at 2AM.

Thing was that as it was 2 in the morning, a nice night, and I was a bit drunk (:D) I had actually gone for a walk and heard all this from halfway around Semi circle where I was lying in the middle of the track watching the stars :wack:

I just remembered my freak out moment of the weekend, I had just left Chavbo, Dr Bob, Fry, Doc and the guy that attacked Doc with the big foam stick and been in my tent for about half an hour, when I started getting slightly itchy forearms, within 10 minutes I looked like I had rolled around in nettles, I started getting a sore throat and felt as though my throat was getting tight so went and washed my itchy arms, legs and body and got back in my tent to freak out some more. I awoke about an hour later still in full freak out mode and happily noticed the rash was almost away. Had a similar thing when I woke on sunday morning, not the rash just a kinda blotchyness like the fading of the rash the other morning.
On saturday night or maybe sunday night I had a conversation with Dr Doc and Dr Ken who both thought it could be the sauce as I'd been off the drink for 2 years and kinda went for it most nights. Anyway I'm testing the theory this weekend with some more drinking, purely for medical research of course.
Other 'highlights' for me were as mentioned earlier in this thread, watching the victms of the special cigarettes, JP(what the fcuk was in that!) and D-Lowe who defied gravity after a session in Docs camper. You were warned mate!:wack: If you didnt see D-lowe after it he was walking at 45degrees back and forward, and you'd have put your house on him falling but he just leaned the other way and off he went, back and forward, very impressive.
Sunday nights joke session was so bad it was good, and for me two words sum it up and thats 'pink fluff'.
The skittles vodka almost had a victum sunday night as I was handed a large bottle of what looked like methodone but tasted like sweets, so I drank a fair bit, and just thought it was vodka and limeade not vodka and green skittles, my guts burned all the way home on monday.
Other things I can remember that were good were the food(amazing job by all involved) the slushy machine both when it was hot during the day and when it was alchoholic on saturday night.
Kens car, sounds like a promod dragster when you hear it at full beans.
Algie and Doc mc'ing the saturday afternoon was great as were all the inflatable games.
Realising I wasnt't the second oldest on the sunday night was a great feeling, thanks, you know who you are:thumbs:
Matt S doing his doorman on saturday night, and the story of how he didnt invent rust but did spread it across the world otherwise we would all be driving 2CV's, thanks Matt.
And lastly cause its taken me a week to remember this much, just meeting old faces and some new ones, some of the old faces remebered me more than I remembered them and vice versa but after not being at a large national event(JAE at billing) in about 5 years, it felt like I'd never been away, great club spirit as ever:ghey:
