you can clearly see the front wheels and just see how close the rear wheel came to the armco. i was very very close to really twatting my car, got away with a slight scratch!

should have looked quite impressive from outside :D (was quite scary inside - for the bank account anyways)
These are the only runs I managed to capture on the little cam (taped low on the front bumper - cheers Dave for the tape :thumbs: ) . They're not in the same order that I did the runs in.

i think the final verdict was it'd need a jig, but worst case scenario it's a re-shelling weekend :) either way everything mechanical is fine :)

Got you mega sideways out of the hairpin but it's blurry and out of range, because I had to pick the camera up pronto to get it. You DID actually catch that barrier - we heard it :nod:
yup i have a tiny tiny graze on my rear bumper / rub strip. could've been a tad worse i feel :eek:

Coolio :) that was my first run of the day, rly didnt realise how loud the limiter beep was, quite annoying as its the same beep as the add coolant buzzer and i had been fiddling with the cooling system most of the weekend
Ah so that was your red RX7? It was lurvley, one of the best looking cars of the weekend imo :nod:

:( - charged my camera battery on Thurs night but for some reason it didn't work, so I have no pics or vids - so if anyone has anything of my burgundy S14 with gold standard rims I would appreciate it - particularly the tyre smokin at the uphill hairpin :D - but no underwear/tug of war related photos please :rolleyes:

Yeah I'll have a few of you sparky. Was everything allright with your car as I noticed you on the hard shoulder on my way home. It was too late for me to pull over before I noticed you as I was half alseep.

Sorry mate. Totally clueless to any of this side of it. Only had the cam about a month and this is the first time its even been used. I was amazed I managed to get it all onto the laptop without dleteing something. I'll try to figure it out :wack:

As much as I tried I could not drop that 1sec to get into the 50's. Next year maybe! Turn your volume down, as its just wind noise sadly.

The mx5 rocked, no damage, no funny noises, and still on the same tank of fuel. I must have had 10 people other than Carli in the car; hope you all enjoyed and I'm glad I didn't injure any one. :wack: The little scream from Algie on the last bend was awesome :D

The mx5 rocked, no damage, no funny noises, and still on the same tank of fuel.
It was ripping up the hill :nod: Well driven, too. One of the more aggressive attacking style drives by far
As much as I tried I could not drop that 1sec to get into the 50's. Next year maybe! Turn your volume down, as its just wind noise sadly.
Dont you mean drop into the 40's as that was a 52 second run? Love the little tail slide at the end. :thumbs:

Thanks man, I never thought I would get so into chasing down the points of a second. I generally only do drift track time, but since being forced to drive straight at this years JapFest I'm kinda hooked. :eek:

Yeah, centre mounted. Thanks man, on every run I could tell where I dropped time, but to string it all together with no mistakes prooved VERY difficult.
IIRC, the sierra was smoking a little when you were bringing up the revs, but when you dropped the clutch it was all tyre smoke. :D
I've got a load of pics to go through - I think I got everyone who went up before the lunch break. Too bad if you've got a white car though, because the sun played havoc with the light and nearly all the shots of any white car look too bright :(

I only used Racelogic to launch twice, it just bogged down, so I'm hoping someone has some good photo's of all the other launches....4k rpm and OS Giken ratios equals some nice tyre smoke :D

I can only access the 1st 100 photos on my phone but found 2 off yours. I have pretty much everyone. The quality seems to go downhill though once uploaded to photobucket. Originals are alot better :nod:

I did. I think. I don't actually like RX7s, but I was operating a fair usage policy and I think I took pictures of every car that went up the hill in the morning, from various vantage points. Some came out good; some bad. Strangely, the ones that looked good on the camera screen don't upscale so well onto the full size screen and look a bit crap. The ones I thought would look a bit dubious on the camera actually look okay on the laptop screen :wack:

yeh - changing gear entering the motorway I managed to rip out the wiring to my boost controller with my foot - cable ties sorted it.

I took photo's for about 30mins, High speed shooting on the D300 is lovely :)

I think I've got one of you yawing away at the steering wheel trying to get it to turn in sharper round the top bend :D

Ben as I said when you took me out you were braver than me!! Your car felt far faster than mine during the twisty bits and I was pulling 54secs.

I'll vouch for that. The MX5 felt fantastic when you took me up the hill in it, so planted and pretty nippy :nod: Really appreciate you taking me up then taking the Mrs up straight after.
Got plenty of pictures of your car too, probably because it was up the hill constantly all day :D

I wonder if there's a prize for the most runs in the day? :wack: I dont think I stopped all day, other than the few rests for the people less lucky than me with barriers, and lunch.
Little car was great fun, but seeing Ken shoot off leaving 11s everywhere straight enough to get his foot down did make me miss my car :( Next year!

I'm putting together a video similar to Madda's with all of the launches - unfortunately the gopro seems to pick up the exhaust noise from mine thru the mount which drowns out some of the other cars...

All great pics, I only had my phone so mine aren't that great. I did take a video of my last run though, but used my phone (again not great), this was where I locked up the fronts a few times so was trying to push it hard :)

Having failed on sat night by being rather tipsy on the evil clear stuff, I managed to "misplace" my digicam :confused:
However this has now turned up and is currently being looked after by cornwall. :sxoc: Gonna pop across and see him next weekend so when I have the cam back i'll post up all (well most) of the pics on here or put up a link if there are epic amounts.
Unfortunately, there wont be any of the track action but I did get some pretty smart pics from Friday and Saturday and also some drunken evening pics :thumbs:

I copied the link from a box that said "share this album" but now i spotted another box saying the same thing, clicked on it and a window poped up which has been loading for the past 5 mins, why the hell is photobucket so sh1t these days it used to be nice n easy to use and fast... now its just a mess and slow as anything.

Haven't had a chance to get the front up in the air so i am not entirely sure as to the extent of the damage underneath, but none of the suspension arms appear to be bent, and like i say, the shock absorber on the passenger doesnt appear to be bent.
Gonna be a lot of work to get her back on the road i reckon, but will get there in the end :).

Cheers very much mate, havent had anyone look at it apart from DanCRX19 off here (he is my neighbour) so will have to get something sorted as and when. Thinking of taking all the standard intercooler pipework off so i can get to the radiator etc as it isnt punctured but has been pushed in a fair way.
well keep in touch as to what you need, ive got a standard rad if you need it also :), sidelight, bonnet airbags etc.
Ive added you on FB also :thumbs:

Glad it cheered you up Amy. Was gutted for you when I heard it was vader that crashed & then you disappeared. Glad we were able to get you back on the road & the good thing with the S14a is that parts are plentiful

Nah, i didnt get up in time for the morning session - started running after lunch from about 1:30 i think. Managed about 3-4 runs before said incident.

you can clearly see the front wheels and just see how close the rear wheel came to the armco. i was very very close to really twatting my car, got away with a slight scratch!

The missing bits involve a rotating BMW and a long haired gentleman wildly sawing at the wheel as if his life depended on it :D
300lb/ft (more if it's had the remap i found the receipt for) through a couple of "sunfull"s (yep, i've never heard of them either) is already man enough for me buddy :D
it needs a welded / locking diff and then it'd have been a lot more predictable (or it would've been a much more spectacular off :D)

mate, if I had skill I wouldn't have been in that mess in the first place - said that a few minutes later to Doc etc. but it's true. :D
I was aiming for a bit of a slide, nothing major, just a cheeky slide coming out of that first hairpin. I reckon I was halfway up 2nd so about 35-40ish and it swung back so quickly i wasn't ready for it and it pendulum'd shoving the nose straight towards the barrier as the back swung round. it was more luck than skill that allowed me to catch it, believe me.
i forgot to say thanks for those pics, but thankyou! i do appreciate them :D as it serves as a good reminder of just how easy it can go wrong (even at low speeds)
schumi did the same thing by all accounts, but just after the gravel trap so 10 or so meters before me.
matt was recording but once it started going off he just recorded his feet as he feared for his life... pussy :D
should be an interesting conversation though :D - I remember saying oh **** please (or something similar) as i wasn't sure if i was going to clip the barrier with the entire side of my car or not.
actually if you look closely (or at the large version) you can see shumi's tyre mark's going off in the first pic of my car.
The Marshall said to us that Schumi out braked himself at the first hairpin and hit the tyres, I didn't realise it was at the exit of the hairpin.
All I got through there was understeer :(
