View Full Version : Cambridge Meet location
After speaking to the people at the meets lately the milton arms is getting worse everytime we go there food wise and chav wise.
So were looking for a new location....
We could go back to the robin hood in cherry hinton and hope the quiz bloke aint there :wack:
I think if i remember right that randomnine, jim and cuppa all had ideas of where we could go in the area?
Main things were looking for are:
Easy access for the low cars
Good amount of parking
Good food
Good sitting areas inside and outside
So were do the members want the meet to be held? All suggestions will be looked into

come on guys lets give fordy a hand here.
who knows where a good lcoation is? any one got any local pubs that need a bit of boost in business?
:sxoc:
The Plough in Fen Ditton is really good. Food is spot on. Great beer garden (by the river) and secluded car park.

Another option is The Bridge at Waterbeach. Like the Plough really (including the riverside beer garden) but has a bigger car park.

http://www.mypubheaven.com/bridgecambridge/The Plough was a venue some years back. The problem with it now is the cost of the food - it's expensive for what it is :( . Agreed though, good car park and a decent area outside
There's nothing in Saffron Walden that's any good (in terms of car parking) and, seeing how I rarely go to any pubs other than those in S/W and in Hitchin, I'm not much use in suggesting alternative venues :wack:

Yep - it's not cheap. And it can get very busy.
The Bridge wins hands-down on the car park (see attached image shamelessly robbed from Google Street View).
Myself and Randomnine tryed the Lion and Lamb on Milton high street a little while ago. Food was very good if not a little arty and the place was deserted on a tuesday evening, also has a suitable car park and not far from the Milton Arms so easy to find :)
Its at CB24 6DF, linky http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=lion+and+lamb+milton,+cambridge&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=lion+and+lamb&hnear=Milton,+Cambridge&cid=3410371488954167933
