So, one of my mum's colleagues gets pulled over on her bike last week for a random test. She wasn't drunk, speeding, being dangerous or wearing inappropriate safety gear. Plus, she's all nice and not your usual biker-type.

However, the unsalted back ask to see her licence, just because.

She explains that she does not have it in her possestion as she has mislaid it (not lost, or banned, just put in such a safe place that she can't remember where it is). She has sent off for a new one from DVLA, which will take two - three weeks. Plus she phoned the DVLA, so hopefully this will be on record.

However, teh roz decided to read her her rights, and she's up in court!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is a fully licenced, legal, law abiding rider, who happens to have mislaid her licence.

WTF  And she'll prolly have to pay court costs if hte licence does turn up. ANd if it doesn't, who knows?

I feel an attack of rage coming on...

What are they actually charging her with?

Surely they could just check the DVLA database for her name and see that she has a current, valid licence!

Dont think i'd be able to control my tongue in said situation, whats up with our police farce!

If she does not get her licence in time she will have to go to court, if the judge gives her an extension then that would be fine but i have known people to get done for not having a valid licence even when they have, because the fuzz cant be arsed to check.

Police are a god dam waste of time and tax payers money!!! I hate them!!
