Has anybody used a car selling agency?

Im having trouble selling my civic vti for a good price and have had a call from a finance company who do a deal with people that have a bad credit rating by buying cars from private buyers like me then sell them on finance to their customers. has anybody ever done this? it sounds dodgy! but maybe really good.

They say the reason they buy cars from private buyers is so they can offer uncommon models, unlike most companies who only offer 1.2 corsa's etc which come from auctions!

It would cost me £35, who thinks its worth a try?

Cheers,

Lennie.

If you can't sell it yourself why can an agency? In the past I've found agencies to be a complete waste of time. Far better drop the price a little on the Civic or waiting until a different time of year to sell.

I assume you've tried Autotrader?

A quick look at Parkers would seem to indicate that a private sale value for the Civic should be about 4K and that you're asking above dealer price, so that may be your problem.

Yeah the price is too steep, i its not sold by thursday the price will be down to £4350. Does anybody know someone who wants a civic vti? It is a really nice car, no dents, scratches etc i looked a more than a dozen before i bought this car and ive never seen one in better condition. im not saying that either because im selling it, it really is a nice car.

£4350ono

Guideline price on that car is £3995.

Perhaps you'll get more interest now "Too Fast Too Furious" is out. Stick some neons and a "naws" kit on it and watch the offers flood in :)

I wouldnt bother mate, theyre a bit of a con. I saw watchdog a few months ago and they were investigating a few of these companies and there were loads of people complaining about them. what they'll do is leave it for a week or so and them come back to you asking if you'd like to upgrade to there "gold" or whatever system and sting you for more money and then theres still no guarentee they'll sell it.
