Hello,
Well hopefully I will actually post this time. To cut a very long story short I have decided my next car simply must be a 1990ish 200sx. I have modded my current car and the only thing left to me is to 1.8 it. But as that will cost me around £2500 I have been looking at buying a new car instead. And it is the SX which is for me...

but I want to know the Pros and Cons. I know all cars have them.. ;)

Thanks in advance... and I cant believe how good cars these look for the money. Underestimated I believe...

BTW...there are some very nice cars on here.

Lynda( please dont laugh to much at my current car.. for a 1.4 it surprises people... but I need better)

1. Big end bearings
2. Turbo
3. Exhaust valves

Turbo is the easiest - blue smoke
Zorst valves have a few symptoms, but a rough idle's a good sign
Big end bearings if they're on the way out rattle when you fire up the engine after leaving it for a while. If you get them at this stage, then repair aint too bad.
This is by no means definative, and for more it would be a good idea to use the http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/images/top_search.gif button:)

Cheers.
I am lucky enough to live with a mechanic but I need to know what to look out for when out test driving. My current car has a list of what to look out for when buying and apart from the damage a women did to it recently I have been lucky. But it simply is no longer quick enough. Or got any street cred whatso ever.

Total change of car for me... Rover 114GTa to Nissan 200SX. :)

There's a buyers guide here (http://www.nissan200sx.co.uk/buyers_guide.htm) which has stuff to look for when test driving. I've recently gone form a knackered 1.3 Astra (74bhp) to an S13 (185bhpish? or so). It's handy being able to overtake things now, the kick from the turbo is excellent, even in 5th. Don't ever look at the Apex Performance site if you want to have a positive bank balance. ;)
