i feel for the guy that got hit but as we're reminded at every track and on every ticket motorsport is dangerous. the drivers have got a race to get on with and the pit crew have their jobs to do, it's the camera mans fault for being in the way imo

It's not the camera mans fault, its his spotter, he is meant to keep him safe. The camera man can't see to his side, he is busy doing his job. The spotter deserves a big slap lol.

dont worry, pit lane speed limits for ALL motorsport will be reduced to 5mph to stop this happening again, and pedestrian protection systems will be also introduced for ALL motorsport cars as well.

thing is, all the people with media passes at le mans have massive insurance for shit like this, but does it cover the damage to the cars as well? i'm sure audi don't care but if i'm at an event and i hit a camera man i'd be blamed, he'd get a payout from his insurance, and my car would be damaged...i'd feel terrible about hitting someone but i wouldn't be too happy with the damage, and if he's in the wrong place in the pits like that then it really is his fault

Was a nasty incident. They took about 30mins to stablalise him on the pitlane, including a drip due to the blood loss from a severe ankle injury, then he went for surgery in hospital.

An ACO media spokesman said a few hours later he was in a severe but stable condition with a bad lacerated and broken ankle, injuries to his shoulder, head and arm.

If you are in the way of a racing car then you need to get out the way or be run over, pit time is long enough as it is without having to wait for numbnuts to clear the path.
