Today i fitted my trust elbow and downpipe with an S13 japspeed decat onto an Apexi N1 catback.

My issue is that from the elbow to decat it was shorter than the standard elbow and cat and the exhaust is hitting the stud that comes out the floor for the seat rail. i also wrapped the cat temp sensor and tucked it under the carpet but the cat temp warning light is showing on the dash.

also the hanger for the downpipe that connects to the gearbox doesnt line up but im thinking this might be down to me having a gearbox from a CA engine.

elbow and downpipe are from an S14a.

any ideas?

^^ What he said. s14a has a longer cat and shorter downpipe/elbow than 14.

you sure? i thought you couldnt mix S14 elbow with a 14a downpipe and vise versa because if mixed they had fitting issues, well thats what ive read anyway.

i think the reason for my exhaust hitting the stud for the seat frame is because i had to twist the exhaust to line up with the decat.

from further reading it looks like they dont list an S14a for the elbow and downpipe so its more than likely for an S14, and now the elbow is blowing from the gasket (i knew i didnt tighten a couple of bolts enough :()

Nah, that's why the 14a and 14 de-cats are different boss. one's 330mm and ones 345mm IIRC...

still leaves the back box sitting low though.

might need to get someone to chop the decat up and extend and rotate it to fit the catback properly. ill see what happens tomorrow i may be able to get the car back up and ill grab a few pics of the exhaust so i can maybe explain it better.
