Apparently this is the worst in the last 10 years for hayfever, and I get it really bad.
I currently have a slightly restrictive nose, and thats it.
If anyone wants some advice, for fcucks sake, go to your homeopathic GP and get your mixed grass pollen tablets.
This is the only treatment that has really worked for me.
Anyone that calls it jibberish can p1ss off and go sneeze over someone else.
Seriously, you got to try this!

The company I work for manufactures a Hayfever remedy called Haycrom.....
although you can't actually buy it, because those fcukin dim wits in Sales and MArketing, wouldn't know hayfever season if it came up and bit them on the arse. We never seem to have made any when the season starts, and itr's over by the time we get it to market.
Fcukin useless cnuts.

Are there various symptons of hayfever ????? i know all about the streaming eyes etc but the last couple of days when its been nice i have felt really tired and my heads all fuzzy. My nose is blocked and my ears keep popping. Keep sneezing too
Could this be hayfever or am i dying of something else

Mark - sounds hayfever related. Also, a lot of the drugs make you drowsy. It could also be a cold of course.
Remember peeps - just ask for mixed grass pollen tablets, and you won't have to pay the £50 odd quid to talk to the homeopathic GP.
I'm gonna keep pimpin this stuff until the whole world is hayfever free!

Yer, must stay off the Crack :D
although pills tend to help a lot (and no, not tried the mixed grass pollen ones) the only thing that's really worked 100% for me is the injection you can have.
Most GP's are reluctant to prescribe it because it's a steroid but you can get it if you're pesistant or find the right GP (my GP gets hayfever really bad and swears by it)
I had it for the first time last year and it's been the first year since I was 10 I've been able to enjoy the summer properly, can highly recommend it.
Just trying to book my appointment this year to get it done and not having much fun in the meantime.

I had the steroid tablets for hayfever a few years ago and they were ace BUT if you read the list of side effects its horrendous, that why I don't want anymore, I must admit my hayfever hasn't been that bad this year compared to the last couple :D :D

One thing to bare in mind is that this remedy is completely and utterly different to using drugs to solve the problem. I cant remember the process, but anti histemines target a very specific part of the process where your body has an allergic reaction (production of histemines at a guess) which is very early in the process. If you've allready been exposed, they dont work very well at all as I'm sure you know. These homeopathic tablets work in a totally different way, and to tell the truth, nobody actually knows how they work(allthough ppl have had a few stabs at it)
Also bare in mind that just because we dont know how it works doesn't mean it doesn't work.
I have a Med student friend who thinks its total bollox between sneezesfor exactily that reason, but he hasn't tried them:rolleyes:

Anyone who tells youthat homeopathy doesn't work is talking rubbish. It has been proven to work in dogs (for example) for certain conditions, so disproves the "Placebo" effect. It doesn't work for everything though, so be wary of anything that say it can cure anything.
As far as antihistamines go, the over the counter remedies (go for Loratadine or Cetirizine - can pay lots for the branded ones though, Clarityn and Benedryl) are the best for general symptoms (runny/itchy eyes, blocked/runny nose, sneezing, blocked ears, "Muzzy" head) and do not make you drowsy. Nasal sprays would work best for those who just have runny nose and sneezing.
The injection is great if you get it really bad, though it is not often used any more. Don't worry about using the steroids, the list of side effects is there to cover the manuacturer for legal reasons and you will only develop these things if taking them for a VERY long time.
Wow! I am amazed that there is a topic on this BB that I can contribute something constructive to. Chuffed now :D

this makes me :D :D :D :D
The histamine that the tablets are 'anti-' is the chemical your body releases in response to the allergen. The histamine then causes the unpleasant symptoms we know & hate.
Most people I know with hayfever (including me) have to go through the whole range of anti-histamines to find the best one - most of them won't work for one person. I've tried just about all of 'em (drug-rep freebies ;) :D ) and the best I've found is called 'Mizolastine' or 'Mizollen' - they really make me feel like I haven't got any hayfever. I'll be taking them to Glastonbury. :) The over-the-counter ones do nothing much useful that I've ever noticed.
And with a runny blocked sore nose, how on earth are you meant to take a meaningful dose of nasal spray? :wack:

If you haven't got access to "Drug rep freebies" though, Loratadine would be a good drug to try (Clarityn). You can use a Beclomethasone nasal spray at the same time as this (so hopefully no blocked, runny nose at this time ;) ) such as Beconase. After a week or two you should be able to stop taking the loratidine, though continue using the spray (takes a while to become effective). This (should) help in the long run.
But, as Tombs says, it is all a little "Hit and Miss" and you may need to try a few things until you find one that works for you.
Could just go and buy some Phenergan 25mg though. Would probably help the hayfever, and knock you out too, so you wouldn't care anyway. :) Prolly best to leave the 200 out of your plans then though

Feel sorry for you lot, I used to get it realy bad until I moved down here and I've not had it for over 5 years. cant understand it realy as there's more tree's grass flowers pollution etc here than the mainly agricultrul part of lincolnshire I came from, so if anything it should have got worse  oh apart from oil seed rape, that stuff still makes me sneeze:mad:
I've had it really bad all weekend.
I found benadryl works ok, still get a bit of a runny nose, but stops my eyes itching.
Clarityn is ok so long as you ain't drinking, then the problem gets worse.

Hayfever is caused by grass/cereal pollen in 95% of cases.
So that rules out the flowers, trees, bushes etc etc
Anywhere agricultural will be bad for Hayfever sufferers!!
Christ, the SXOC stand at Billing is gonna look like everyone's been crying! ;) :D :D

you dont need any remedies or anti histamines, just do what I do. Smear vaseline on the inside of your nostrils. What happens is as you breath in, the pollen sticks to the vaseline before it has a chance to get into your nose and cause the irritation. I use it every day and it works, honest! try it for yourself. If for no other reason than the cost. Those antihistamines cost 8 quid a week, I use one of those little lip therapy tins a month, which sets me back 99p.
Try it, it really does work.
