I have read that I might need a loom, but thats so the Hud works, which I dont have. I assume just stick it in and see if it works!

Mine didn't fit as I need a loom to fit it, which is a
bugger as I got it all off and found that out!

There's one for sale on ebay right now http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-200sx-S13-RARE-Digital-Dash-Clocks-/130396383861?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e5c3aea75

Dunno if it has the loom though. Also, only 400 ever made

EDIT - There are two versions of these, one will only display in KPH, the other is switchable between KPH and MPH, but I can't remember which is which. From what the ebay ad says, I think it must be the 180 clocks which are KPH only, and the 240 clocks that are switchable. Might be worth checking EBay US.

i have them in my 180, which is kph only. Would a speed converter thing be able to make them mph??

As for Reading in kph surely if you can't switch it you could put a resister in the speed wire to change it just like the normal clocks

Yes I think you can change the scale with a speedo converter. (it's slightly more complicated than a resistor as it blocks some of the pulses). But it'll still say 'kph' in the readout.

I guess the US market cars might also have been sold in Canada (kph), or perhaps just on the basis that people might drive from US to Canada, hence 240s being switchable.

Well point them out then... :p

(I started updating it recently as it's ancient now and does have a few mistakes :o).

I was under the impression the digital speedo PCB does the dimming so unless you wire a toggle switch into that, you can't dim the dash lights (the conventional dimmer switch does nowt).

I never wired my digidash into my kouki 180, but from when I had it in my S13, the slow update rate pissed me off a bit (can't say the 125mph limit was such a pain), as did having to fix it twice.
It's also a bit more fussy about what waveforms you give it compared to a normal analogue speedo too (wouldn't suprise me if it didn't like certain speedo converters, although I've never tried any).
