To be held 2nd 3rd 4th july. Great event for Petrolheads as I am sure you all know! A friend & I are camping on the designated Goodwood site which has excellent facilities & is literally a 3 minute walk to the entry near the start line. The pitch is 9 metres by 7 metres & the cost for the pitch (including electric hook-up) is £180 for the weekend- single day bookings are not accepted.

We are looking for others to share the pitch & the cost - there will be room for a 4/6 man tent alongside our trailer tent. You will have to provide your own tent etc & you would spend the time as you wished, of course! Facilities are excellent with ample toilets/showers & hot water, plus shop on site. As you would expect there is a good atmosphere & you do not have the hassle of battling through traffic morning & night!!

Now for the best bit- FREE ENTRY!! The normal cost of entry for the 3 days is £107 but we get in free as we volunteer 2 hours of our time each day at the event. Last year we did 2 hours at the helmet park one day then other days had a collection bucket for a couple of hours- still enabling us to see the event! Last year the charity was the Richard Burns Foundation- a very worthy cause.

For details of this year's event go to www.goodwood.co.uk/festivalofspeed.

If interested please pm me.

Parking is free on the campsite & it's less than 5 mins to the entrance of Goodwood! Just looking for a share of the camping cost which is £180 divided by number of campers. If 3, then £60 each, if 4 then £45 each which covers fri, sat & sun nights- possibly thurs too but not confirmed yet! You don't have to stay for all the nights but the cost is fixed- £180 for the pitch for the event period.

Im going to be booking my 3 days worth of tickets soon, just seen this post though!
So whats the deal with getting in for free?? would I have a pass or something, it would all be above board & legit im guessing???
I would happily pay for the camping thing for you guys if it meant I could get in free for the 3 days! I only live 20 mins from Goodwood so wouldnt need to actually stay overnight....

To qualify for the free entry you have to volunteer to work fro 2 hours each day on the site for a charity- last year it was Richard burns Foundation. You can either do 2 hrs at the helmet park- giving receipts 7 collecting 'voluntary contributions'!- or holding a collection bucket at the gate as people leave. If you want details of how to apply to volunteer pm me please.
