View Full Version : TV - World cup and F1!!!!
Grazor raised an excellent point this afternoon,
The F1 and some foosball is on over theLe Mans weekend and I for one would like to watch some of it
He's happy to take his projector over but we'd need some way to get the feed to it.
The best options are either a sky dish and decoder or a digi box and watch it in foreign lingo.
Any thoughts folks?
I can mump my GF's spare digi box if that's any use

It's obvious. Make the cancel Le Mans!
Or watch both in the Guiness Tent!
Now that's a good idea too :D
(The Guiness tent not cancelling Le Mans :D )

There is Guinness tent?! Sweeeet:thumbs:
Already been discussed - we cant guarantee that we will be able to get decent Wifi/3G on the campsite, so the feed is the problem. I cant take mine (the missus would kill me) so anyone else .........

What channel? Watch it on an iPhone? Not a massive screen, but better than nothing!!
You need 3G for that though Junkie, and we are going to be in a field in the middle of France ......
If we can get 3G better using a laptop Id have said

Sorry bud, I thought you said you CAN guarantee good 3G/WiFi! My bad! :(
Am I right in thinking that the sky boxes turn into free view boxes when you go out of contract? If so I have a spare one

guiness :hurl:
guiness :hurl:
Dont worry, I'm sure they have a cider and moonshine tent:hurl:
Tom,
I've no idea on that one, I'm a Virgin customer and I don't think the cable will stretch that far!
Grazor is bringing the projector so it can taje any TV or laptop feeds depending on what we can get out there

Figjam, yeah pretty sure they do but worth testing. I also might have a spare one, will double check

Yup, thats correct. Mine works as a freeview box (when the trees arent blocking the signal!)
I would of come this year if it wasnt for the world cup :(
We are only missing one game you :ghey: :D
Id have been at a wedding if I wasnt at LM so would have missed it anyway :wack:
I'll happily bring along my spare 42" plasma which has built in digi freeview,if someone can supply a decent antenna I'm sure we'll be able to find the footy & F1 on some french digi channel
ps could bring the 360 too :D
Too risky mate, I'd hate to see it get nicked or dmaaged and we've no idea how the weather will be, we can easily move G's projector about and lock it away safe too :thumbs:
Nice offer though :thumbs::sxoc:
Its a spare anyway, will be ok in the van,I have bubble wrap! :p
ps the trouble with the projector is you still need a screen,we took a projector one year & used the side of a white tent but it was pants :(

A very generous offer JC but you're either mad or brave or both ;)
Both  :D
Its an old telly & not worth very much, plus its a spare so if it gets a few marks or scratches on the case I won't be too upset. ;)
The upside is that it has built in digi freeview so we will deffo be able to find footy & F1 on french digi channels & is easy to set up & see,my experience with a projector in 2007 was pretty disappointing tbh, hassle to set up & level the picture & barely visible during the day. :(
Nice one JC - thats oughta hold it. We can lock it in the van each night if needs be.
