How many people are interested in a rolling road day in cambridge?

Need to get 10-15 cars to get a decent price each and a nice relaxed day of it
looking at £40 each for 2-3 power runs,
oil, water and tyre pressures will be check before the cars are run
graphs will show:
flywheel power
flywheel lbft
wheel power
drag
peak boost pressure
air temp

Afr will be monitored during the run dont know if they can put it on the graph as i used mine in the car when i run

Its a Maha dyno calbrated to within 1%.

Considering there isnt a dyno around for 70ish miles and this is on our door step would be silly not to use it, i've used it for mapping and got the right figures for my car

Probably get have bbq going aswell

If people post there interest in this thread once we get some numbers i can sort it out for whenever is best

Depending on what day the RR run will be held, I'll be up for this

My car is in an 'Airfix' condition at the mo. Hopefully it will be up and running next month.

I will post this in the East Mids sect and see if there are any takers.

I'd be interested in this for my Fiat Coupe (assuming it doesn't fall to pieces whilst I type this).

Might be able to get my buddy to run his Rex as he lives in Cambridge.

Martin, why are continuously trying to sabtage this RR day? No road dyno is 100% accurate and we all know for a true fly figure you need an engine dyno but the idea of these days is to get people together, have a bit of banter and compare your cars on the day

Fordy is trying to actually get something organised in this area for the members, if you are not interested then dont go but please dont try and mess it up for others with your little remarks.

yes.. and the RR at Zen performance is as close (wellingboro) and very accurate..
the dyno booth at Revivals is a bitch to get into if you have a low car. (the booth is kinda at the back on the squint).

im just making some valid points before the RR day there makes a big FAIL.! its got nothing to do with Fordy etc.. im just advising against using that venue.. the guy that runs the dyno (i know him personally) doesnt know anything about turbocharging etc (he's a mini specialist).

theres always reason behind my "little remarks" so rather than try flame me down (since your Captain Hater of the i hate you boat, you always think its for the worst.. ) ask why next time.. fair enough?

Well why dont you explain things better to start with then rather than post little bits of negativity  That would then help Fordy select the right venue. Most of the problems you have on here you bring on yourself by being rude, blunt and obstructive

And all the hater stuff is real  for all the hassle you have caused on here you should count yourself lucky, we got rid rid of people far quicker for a lot less ;)

Martin,

Your issue in this thread has been your approach. Instead of posting in the thread and making it a big deal, why didn't you just pm Fordy and leave it at that? At the end of the day it's his choice where he attempts to hold a rolling road day.

I myself have pm'd Fordy about an item relating to this thread. However, since it was a pm he can do what he chooses with the information, rather than having somebody plaster his thread with "this dyno is completely inaccurrate!"

Seriously mate, although your information may be useful, the way you deliver it sometimes is terrible. Listen to constructive comments instead of dismissing people as haters. The post which was deleted on this thread and your following post of almost the exact same thing makes you look like a hater of this rolling road...

Seriously mate, a little bit of thought about how you convey something goes a long long way.

as above i have spoken to adam via text quite abit about this.. i just dont want people to be either disappointed with not being able to get their car on the RR after they have paid to run.. or to come away with false information..

otherwise its about as useful as having someone sit in the car and say yeah thats about 300.. if you see what i mean.

the last time i tried to use revivals he wanted £75 perhour just to use the dyno..

my suggestion of Zen is that basically the rollers have great access and are accurate.. and paul also has un parralelled knowlegde of turbo tuning..

meaing that if cars have problems the dyno operator will have knowledge in guiding you to rectifying this problem. i.e better value for money.

Martin, all those points are great. They're constructive, they're taking in to consideration the members experience on the day and how much is reasonable to pay.

Great information and very useful, in future though, send that on to Fordy and let him make a decision about how/where to run the event. That way, you've highlighted the potential issues, but left it in his hands to resolve.

Are they any good?
Need to get mine on the rollers for a bit of a check to make sure all is well...
It'll be a bonus if they are decent as I'm in Stortford most weekends!
