Who's going and who from the Glasgow area wants to meet for the journey up.
Not me, busy Sunday
Is it a busy one? IE Mag type day?

Nah great day to test the straight line acceleration of the Supra out, I wouldn't bother with the MR2 :p :D

It was quicker on the straights than your SX at Knockhill, and much quicker in the corners :p

Handbags at twenty paces!
:D What 1/4 mile times do you get with it mate? The MR config should give good initial grip?
Done any suspension mods have we?
:p :p
Only kiddin', what times do standard Supe's get mate?
Dunc.
Didn't you know the MR2 is just a hairdresser's car? What would I want with 1/4 mile drag runs? :D
Suspension is slightly sorted yes, but nothing OTT - just an overhaul with uprated items where I thought it'd make it better. It's got late spec Bilstein gas shocks (Toyota OEM) with Eibach Pro - Kit springs. I also replaced all the ARB bushes and ARB link arms.
The point in my MR2 is really just to be a commuter TBH, just happens it's an MR2 - I was lookin for something sensible at the time. The cars I import are my fun cars :) The akward part is having fun with them when you wanna sell em.
Ohhh that reminds me - I just bought a '94 Celica GT4 for meh bro so that's him firmly into the jap scene now. I also have on the same boat a '93 Black Supra TT Veilside (with normal rear wing tho) for my next car. I thought the deal for it had fallen through, but it came good earlier this week.
Standard supe I reckon a 14, possibly high 13. Think some people have managed low to mid 13's but I doubt that's possible with the crappy surface at Crail.

Agreed, good work on the GT4 and Supe No.2.

Aye I reckon I'm up for it in the supe. Are you gonna head across the forth bridge? If so, will we do an early morning meet at the McD's?

Kincardine bridge route for me.
If your coming from Livingston isn't this ok for you?
Where can I meet you and what time? How far along the M8 do you come?

I'll meet you at the McD's at the fourth road bridge:D

Downloaded it, but havent watched it all due to fecked sound card. Looks ricey:D  :wack:
Martin - lol ok 10am at the McD's, forth bridge it is then. I think Davie with his MR2 tubby may be coming along to meet us for some runs on the strip as well, and my bro will be coming with me - possibly the bitches too. Gawd it's gonna be cramped in the supe 4-up.
Mike - My bro saw it yesterday - said it was worth seeing but not as good as the original. They take the piss just a wee bit he was saying. 120mph with nos off a bridge, 20ft in the air in a $100k car

Thunder,
How much will it cost for a celica GT4 (ST205)? might get one of them next year. Preferably modded.
Tonnie
Right now I could do a '94 like meh bro's for £6k, that's a 4B (good nick inside and out) graded '94 model year car with 60k miles or less on it. Not sure what that will be in a years time, will obviously be a wee bit less.
What great fun, I got 22 runs down the strip in total :)
Ta for the passenger ride in ure SX Martin
My best time for the day was 13.812 seconds, with a 102.5 MPH Terminal Velocity :D Well chuffed with that, I consistently ran 13.8's for 5 runs in a row.
 Of the day was getting very sideways off the line after they had put water down for the stupid big yank tank trans-am to burn out it's slicks for a warm up.
I had 5 runs against a modded Supra TT manual with a guy I know from the Supra forum and managed to win twice - what that proves to me is that the Auto's are indeed the quicker cars off the line, the jump I got on him from the start on two of the runs was enough to hold him off when he came bearing down on me with his increased boost. His quickest in the end was a 13.2 second run - good stuff :)

Was not a bad day though I am dissapointed at my times, best time was 14.465 and after that I had a weird scrapping noise/ vibration from clutch/flywheel. Not too good at getting off the line when it mattered:rolleyes: My last 6 runs were all crap.
The oval was like an ice rink, didn't enjoy that came so close to backing it into the tyres, hand brake worked a treat.
Had a few good races and did enjoy myself, highlight was beating an Impreza even after fluffin 1st gear and him getting 2 car lengths on me, as I started realin him in I couldn't help thinking, 'your 4wd is of no use now' in an obi wan kenobi voice(alec guiness of course)
Low point was getting left for dead as I fluffed 1st gear against a corsa:( he was pretty quick:cry:

Aye that was one of my highlights of the day as well - going up against that modded green impreza and absolutely hammering him off the line (and winning by a good margin). Couldn't believe how well I was managing to launch. Watched the footage of that race and I hear myself saying in disbelief "f**kin hell I just demolished a scooby off the line" whilst looking outta the passenger side window to see how much of a lead I'm pulling and thinking so much for 4WD lolol :D
wot no sound on the vids

i expected the supra to waste u tini, but their wasnt really much in it.
Better start against the mr2 second time round Brian eh?
errrm, think so. It's not so much I had a bad start, more Davie had a good start in his MR2 - that really is it's strength, so quick off the line.

God knows what i'm thinking to tell the truth.
You must go to a different airfield than me. I mean, never have i seen anyone jumping the cue
Well, saw 2F2F last night. Have to admit, a lot of the film was so unreal in how it portrayed the cars that it really pissed me off
Overall though, it was enjoyable to watch.
Was nice getting into a Supra after the film, whilst all the wannabe's got in their Saxo's and revved their 1.1i's to death :D

The que jumper is a light blue nova who was there runs a 2litre with N2O. Not him, it was a white Corsa with panels instead of rear windows(suppose you could call it a van) he has a 2litre in it, I was annoyed cause I'd beat him all day, and ****ed my last race against him on the start line:cry: The guy was band new and has made me think that maybe not all Corsa drivers are twats even if I still don't get the point of doing up a Corsa.
They used a pro tree which I prefer but not the way they do it at Crail. The 3 amber lights all come on at once followed by the green instead of one amber at a time. At most tracks the starter will only put you into the stageing beams when the tracks clear then when both cars light up the staging lights within a couple of seconds they go to green, at crail you would be staged while the other cars are still on the track that ment sitting there not sure when the ambers will light or when to build your revs. Most of the time I was sitting on the line reving the nuts off it then thinking it was taking too long so I'd let the revs drop then it would go green.
Next time drag racings on tv watch the staging lights and see how quickly after both drivers light them that the lights go green.
Yet another good idea messed up at Crail.
Reckon I had another few tenths of a second in me yesterday if the lights were done better or on the sporstman 1 - 2 - 3 Go style of lights.
Internet Practice Startline Tree (http://www.staginglight.com/services/holeshot/) At the bottom of this page is a practice tree, you click stage then hit the gas padal on the green light, you can change to a pro tree by going to the options an clicking the 0.400 pro tree option.
In proper drag racing if you get a reaction time better than 0.4 on a pro tree you red light, if you beat 0.5 on a sportsman tree you red light.

There was a Nova there running 13's including the reaction time.
Brian did your 13.8 include reaction time?

Nope, RT on my best run was 0.226
300ZX's time was minus RT too ;) - Just us stubborn people refusing to move from the old system where you didn't include it.
and it sounds better too;)
i dont think i will be up at crail for a while as i just got a letter through from fife constabulary :( 114mph in a 70mph

Was that the stupid camera vans that were sat on the hard shoulder of the dually heading back to the forth bridge?
Luckily, I think I passed them at near the limit. Thank f00k cos not long before I was at 150 leptons showing an MG ZR up. Supra gets up there so damn easily

Ouchie, hard break m8 - hope they don't screw you too hard over it :(
