my mate has s14 and is running 1 bar of boost and he thinks that his car uses more fuel driving slow off boost than faster on boost
like on the way to japfest we filled the tank and used half a tank on the way up doing 50-70mph all the way
but on the way back following some mates in there scoobys we were on boost alot more and having a odd blast now and again and we only used just over a quarter of a tank.
is this somthing other people find or not?
what is the most economical way to drive a 200sx?
I find i get 280 out of a tank no matter how i drive it,but half a tank at that speed shows its over fuelling a bit,i got my stage 2 to japfest 85 miles on a quarter averaging 65mph. :)

From completely empty I put £50 of super unleaded in before i left for japfest (1.5 hours drive) then i topped up another £20. whilst i was in the services.
did a track slot around castle coomb and drove home and still have 1/4 of a tank left
I copied the below from another thread as If your looking to compare guys, its never going to work saying how many miles you get to a tank, because...
How much fuel it had in at the start before filling up may be different from car to car?
How empty is empty again different from car to car?
How Accurate the gauge from car to car etc?
Using the gauge won't give you an accurate reading of mpg as you never know how much you have left
1.Fill car to brim
2. Reset milage recorder
3. Do 1/2 a tank ish , doesn't really matter how much but 1/2 a tank will do
4. return the filling station
5. Fill back up to brim
6. Record milage (y)
Record the litres (x) you put in at step 5.
Convert (x) litres to gallons.
Divide (y) by (x) = mpg
Job done:thumbs:
Use KPL instead of MPG if you want, but use a common known if you want to deduce if yours is way out
As for the ones I've had, they went down to about 15mpg when gripping the steering wheel with my teeth gunning it, and IIRC when driving miss Daisy was about 35mpg or somthing close.

For what it is the 200sx is good on fuel, scooby and evo drivers can only dream of 20+mpg.If you want economy buy a corsa(shudder):wack:
Average in my N/A was about 30 iirc. trying to work out the mazda mpg but there seams to be something wrong with the fuel gauge :wack:

I get 20mpg with a pretty much standard auto S14... something not right.
Bearing in mind its 20mpg even if i dont welly it aka not even exceeding 3-4k revs :/ few months ago was doing 35:/

I hate you, i really do... dno how to sort mine out tho i mean at present got no job so cant even sort the car out but i will be hearing back in the next week of a job (think i got it) and then itll be getting serviced straight away with a manual conversion before ANYTHING gets spent on it been waiting round for that for way too long... Anyway ye dno why its fueling so bad... got 35mpg when i bought it yet 2 months later untill now its been doing 20mpg... no issues with the car its cut out ONCE thats it other than that been a beauty... lambda sensor me thinks (been told on ere it cud be)
And Vidal not only does your car look better going slow and fast now it consumes less fuel and gets there quicker... i really do hate you!
Alex, you've probably got a crack on the standard intercooler mate! :(

If it is bust the standard S15 intercooler is a good upgrade which shouldnt affect your ins(well, not as much as a huge mofo fmic:D)
