I'd say yes

£699 was pretty bloody cheap for a decent laptop last time I checked :)

Yes.

But I think it's a desktop processor rather than a mobile one. Not all that important but it does mean that the battery life will be lower (but 2hrs isn't bad) and the cooling fan will be louder and come on more often than the mobile equivalent.

I'd say go for it.

Very good deal, I'd go for it :)

BTW my company is an IT reseller, so I'm fairly in touch with what you should get for your money these days :)

It will be a mobile processor, you'd never fit a normal one in a laptop ;)

youd be surprised! the small form factor of the P4 has the full size desktop version including the ZIF holder wedged into a few laptops...

Really?? I didn't know that. Is the centrino the mobile version of the P4 then?

the P4m is the mobile P4 lower power useage and speed step (i think)... the centrino is an odd beast... ultra low power, low speed (9hours ish and around 1gig speed) and If i remember rightly uses a lot of RAM or something to run... but not tried one or checked the specs for a long time... too scared of new technology!!! :) the only processor ill even consider (for normal use) is a Pentium Based chip :D
