Does anyone know of any good places to get values of old mountain bikes?
I have been offered a bike in P/X for my downhill bike, which is apparentlty rare and worth quite a lot of money.
It is a 1999 Cannondale Super V 2000 with the carbon fibre frame.
Looks in good condition, but part of me is sceptical and thinks, if it's worth so much why don't you sell it?
Any advice/suggestions?
Cheers

Any equivelents on Ebay??
Dude, old bikes are worth pennies I'm afraid. Super V's were pricy when new but they are seriously old tech..
I'd say it's prob worth a couple of hundred max.
IIRC they also used a shedload of proprietary parts (HS and BB?) on that bike didn't they? So they'll be a mare to replace.
My DH bike probably cost me about 4k when I built it 10 years ago - it's probably worth about £100 absolute max now :(

These are all fairly similar, but there is quite a variation in prices.

This is what I thought, the guy with the bike said, he had spoken to 'a cannondale specialist' about the bike and it is worth £1500 due to rarity!
With what he is offering for my bike he is effectively valuing the cannondale at £500.
If it is worth so much let him sell it and give you cold hard cash
Fcuk me there are a lot of chancers there!
Closest to the carbon is the Raven.
Before you consider it - have you ridden a super V? They are, err, an acquired taste. If you like suspension that only works when you are sitting down, and not really pedalling, they're fcuking awesome :wack:

That's bollocks I reckon - it's the same as anything - if there's a 'collector' into his retro rides out there, he may pay that, but you'd be very lucky to stumble across that idio... errr, man.

I'm not going to ride it
My pedalling days are done!
It would be straight up for sale.

You can only do that if you're a cool kid in tight jeans and converse trainers. :wack:
Sod off :p I've never once worn erm, yeah okay :o but I've never owned/worn converse! Haha.
I know a few guys that are 40 and still riding BMX! I've had 2 years off riding so I'm starting again when I've finished building my new bike up. Good times :)
When you around anyway, I want to drive your car! :p
