I bought a rack with trackrod ends believing they were tein 1s but turns out they were japspeed 1s... no biggy as they are still good:) I got a garage to fit the rack and ends as im lazy and it was a mate who works there so got me a good price.. done about 60 miles and the trackrod fell off, luckily i didnt crash as was doung about 15mph and was only 100yrds from my drive.... :censored::censored::censored:
The nut on the bottom unwound itself and fell off! Are these the same size nuts as the standard rod ends or are they a different thread/size! I need to get hold of a nut and split pin before saturday as am supposed to be going to japfest in it!
Hope you can help
Ben

Hi,
Reading that it sounds like the mechanic did not fit the split pin
I don't have a standard one to compare thread sizes. You would be best taking them in to a local machine shop or motor factors to see if they have anything to match.

Adrian.

Cheers m8 yea that's what the plan is really! I work away during the week so its a bit of a pain but I've got a mate on the case and he's been round a few places with no luck so far :(
And yea you were bang on! He said he left the bottom nuts alone as they were already connected to the rack but didn't think to have a look and see if the split pin was present..
If I cant get hold of any, is there any way that you could get hold of some from the kits you sell?
Cheers

Hi,
Sorry but the only nuts we have are part of the kits so can't really split a kit.

Adrian.

Is there any chance you could possibly find out the thread size for me? As it'll make my search easier when trying to find a new 1!
Cheers

Hi,
Sorry but I've not got anything to measure the thread :(
