View Full Version : Toyota Carina
anyone know of any webby's that'll have information about one of these on?
does anyone know if the mesh thing on the exhaust is just a heat shield as I rather suspect it is, dunno I've not actually had a look at it yet myself but he seems to think his exhausts blowing because of a rip in a mesh sort of thing that makes up part of the exhaust

Tenman / anyone,
Did you ever work out the heat-shields on a Carina. Just bought an N reg out of the calssifieds for my brother. The heatshield between exhaust and fuel tank is in the process of falling off. Do you think he could do without or does he need to replace?
Thanks
Robert.
haven't a clue sorry, the bloke who had it wrote it off before I got a chance to have a look at it or fiddle with it at all:smash:

i would replace the heatshield myself, might be a few quid but do you really want it at the back of your mind that theres nothing between the zorst and tank?
i know i wouldnt.
Is it an original Carina or a Carina II? I used to have a Carina II so if that's what it is, I've got a fair few web addresses with info.

Stu, I was coming to the same conclusion - best to replace if in doubt, as if the fuel level was low, it could get quite warm in the tank.
Stimpy, It's a Carina E (92-97) so I think that must be the same one as you had. If you can send me some web addresses that would be really handy. Thanks.
