Free Practice one over and Lewis and Button top the charts.

Been a very quiet few weeks since the last one with the only real news being ferrari have been allowed to modify their engines for reliability. Will be interesting to see if McLaren have caught up with Redbull in qualifying pace.

Yeah was watching it.
All eyes on Michael, 3rd place and a decent showing with his new car (ie on thats not been pranged) and the wheelbase mods ect, hope he can keep that up in p2 and quali

Redbull fastest at the end of Free Practice two, 0.8secs clear of the rest. Hopefully they've done some low fuel runs , on options, or this is going to be even duller than most of the GP's they have there.

Second practise and Shumi is there again....
The RB's might be the quickest cars but if the old master really is back on form in a car thats now working properly then they are going to have to put the hammer down from the very first lap...

Looking forward to this one :D

I didn't think I'd ever say this, being a big Damon Hill fan back in the day, but I really hope Schumacher beats the Red Bulls :smash:

Although obviously my ideal race finish would be an LH/JB 1-2...

^ Superb :D

Eddie Jordan, your trousers are off of the 1970's.

That's more the sort of performance I've been expecting from Schuey. GOing to be an interesting race tomorrow with rain forecast too :D

Wonder if either of the Red Bulls can do it this time?

schumi84

Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic race, have a feeling Red Bull may have the race in the bag (unless the Renault engine has issues again) but behind them it could be anyone

Schumi for podium :D

Baring rain, which is forecast for today (can't remember the last wet GP at this track though), I think the race will finish in the order they come out of turn 2. The only questions are the Redbulls and Ferrari's going to blow up. Really can't see this being an exciting race.

Indeed, I'm expecting a good nap.

Algie
09-05-2010, 12:06
We'll find out soon, it's such a shame all the fans are praying for rain to bring on a good race again!

FIGJAM

i'm keen to see a dry race as I'd like to see how the cars have developed since comming to Europe ans to take pit strategy out of the equation and find out who has the raw pace and driver combo (yes it looks like RB but you never know)

Yer, I'd like a dry race too... lol at the election type team analysis :D

Much as it'd be good to see a level playing field to gauge relative performance I'd still like rain.

There's a danger of the race being too processional :(

Sideways14a
09-05-2010, 14:18
Bit crap this, the only good bits worth watching are the Shumi/Button ding dong throughout the race

Apart from the pit-lane exit excitement (twice), there has been little of any merit. Look at Rosberg gaining over 2s a lap on Hulkenburg and then unable to overtake him. What a waste of time

I've enjoyed the season so far, but not this snooze-fest

Algie
09-05-2010, 14:26
No rain :(

Pity really, I can tell if I'm enjoying a race by what else I'm doing when it's on.

Facebook and the SXOC have been better options tbh :(

its a crap GP when all the excitement is from cars breaking down...It's a crap grand prix when you realise that you can be lapping 2s faster than another car and still not get past for lap after lap after lap

Well, there's always Monaco to look forward to next week :wack:

Monaco next week.... 24 cars on that little track is going to be interesting..

Clouder_sx
09-05-2010, 14:52
Well even the qualifying was boring, so I didn't bother tuning in for the race :wack:

sxbaz
09-05-2010, 14:52
how very boring, bad luck to hamilton tho, sadly monaco will only be interesting with a pile up or rain and there doesn't seem to be many smash ups anymore:(.

So bored of hearing how fast the Red Bulls are. No mention that they're 3rd in the manufacturers.

Gutted for Lewis.

yeah true that as well....

maybe they should look into installing sprinklers at the tracks, and randomly have them come on...seems like when it rains the races are the most exciting...:wack:

only good thing about that race was that lewis would get 2nd, fail.

Jenson Button, clearly a big wuss from his interview,

"Shumacha wasnt gonna back off and I would have crashed into him if I hadnt, with his experience he should of known better"

He did, hence why you were fifth you cock

Sideways14a
09-05-2010, 15:42
I was going to mention about Button, clearly he's in a mood.:wack:
I didnt see Shumi move about much at all and i was watching the on board shots from Buttons car for about 6 laps, Button just didnt have the balls to try one on.

sxbaz
09-05-2010, 15:49
id agree, jensen was having a strop, shumi smoothly closed off any attempts from jensen, car/track design = no overtaking, also the fear of punishment if u do clip someone in a racing incident. aero sucks!

Pete C
09-05-2010, 18:04
Gutted. Boring race, was pleased that Lewis was going to finish second, then that happened :(

And Jenson needs to grow a pair :smash:

Wallers
09-05-2010, 23:26
To be fair to Jenson he was trying to overtake the best F1 driver there has ever been at the only overtaking place on a track.

Every year when it comes to Catalunya I thnk

It's like Hungary - only good if it rains.

Next!
I like Monaco as a spectacle, but there won't be much racing there either

Let's hope it rains. 24 for cars on that little wet track could prove entertaining

10-05-2010, 10:22
Unfortunately i couldnt watch the whole race as i was playing cricket (first race missed this year :(), however it looks like other than the Schumi pitstop i didnt miss much.

Shame really as i had hoped it was going to be a good one, oh well at least Schumi got some good points, get to look forward to Monaco now with the rolling road blocks

I can see some drivers getting quite hot under the collars :D

Edited for accuracy ;)

Sideways14a
10-05-2010, 12:20
You dont want to be missing Monaco though, all those rookies and slow cars, then you have the two epically fast RB's that also seem to be a fragile as eggs and finally chasing those at the front are the 4 World champs which are easily broken down into one nutter (hami) one lucky bastard (alonso) 1 calculating genius (Shumi) and one quiet but rapid (Button)

Anything could happen, and it prob will...

Just seen in the rumours section on the BBC F1 site that Kumho are thinking of bidding to supply tyres for the F1 teams.

So that's 4 then in the hunt, didnt realise how much interest there was going to be, all we need is Goodyear to have a go too and it will back to the 80s with the Eagles :D
