Right guys and girls, I am doing the London to Brighton bike ride this year and am looking to the SXOC for as much sponsorship as possible. Those of you who know me, know that i am far from fit and will find this a big challenge. I did it when I was 18, but I'm not 18 anymore lol.
So dig deep people, as you well know, it's going to a great charity, The British Heart Foundation.
You can sponsor me by clicking on the widget in my sig or on my page here (http://original.justgiving.com/todd_trent)
I thank you all in advanced for your generosity

I'm doing it too!! Should be a good day. :)
I am also doing a bike ride - in September - 135km
I think I should do this for charity too...
But I am completely stumped as to what charity I should do it for?
There are a few people at work doing this, think i will just meet them at the end :D

Cool - London to Brighton is a good ride. I meant to sign up for it this year but missed the opening for entries (1st Dec - if I remember rightly) I then didnt bother.
If you've done it before - you'll already know the delights of Turners Hill and Ditchling Beacon:censored::D. My word, the latter is a b*tch:nod:.
However, there is a +ve to cycling up it; and thats the ride down.:thumbs::D
I also found, the first time I did it - the temps where 30+ and my eyes were red raw and constantly streaming for the whole following week. I assume they where literally sunburnt. - Sunglasses are recommended!!

come on guys, this is for good cause, i'm a fat bastard, doing it on a cheap bike and have a medical condition that have been advised by hospital that shouldn't really do this due to great levels of discomfort :)
Todd, do you wanna borrow my bike? its a hybrid.
Good luck fella and enjoy the ride. Did it 2 years in a row when I was 16 and 17 and enjoyed it immensely.
You really do need a good set of low ratio gears to get up Ditchling Beacon without giving up and walking

I had a 8am start but was a delay and got away at 8.20am. Finished at 3.30pm but had to stop and wait for hour and half as was a major accident at the base of dichlin beacon and had to get air ambulance in. But my speedo recorded total cycling time as 4 hours and 55 minutes so pretty happy with that.
How did you get on dave?

walked across the line at 5pm! I was going up ditchling beacon when the ambulance went past. :( saw so many accidents, I reckon its far too busy to be safe now...will do more 50+charidee rides but maybe a less well known one. was a good laugh though and raised some cash for a good cause. :)
the 3 grannies in shopping trollies were hilarious. :)
