Soooooo question is... what kind of trouble is ronnie going to get himself into this time, maybe instead of giving the balls the finger he might drop his trousers and lay one on the table after a bad shot :D

Lol, i love Ronnie, such a character  was a bit gutted when i realised he's on the table at 14:30 today - it just means i might actually not leave the house today :wack:
Davis in the quarters :notworthy

Davis beating higgins, what an upset... has to be said though davis played very well and its not just a case of higgins not turning up... but enough of that.... Ronnie is playing extremely well against williams at the mo, what a shot on the brown in the 4th frame... truely amazing!

Robertson did well and held his nerve to comeback to win but it has to be say Gould threw it away

A shame really, because a Quarter Final debut for Gould might have been enough to frighten him and lose to Davis  but Robertson is too good i expect (but then so should Higgens have been...)

Taylor... i mean Davis out to Robertson, has to be said roberstson played some amazing snooker in that match but its always easier to play when your several frames ahead. Ronnie v selby now, very funny issue with the touching ball incident in frame before the mid session interval, trust ronnie to make a show out of it.... hilarious stuff!!
but the other side of things, i couldnt believe mark allen lost to Dott , especially being 12-10 in the lead at one stage!!!

So ronnie makes a bit of a scene again, ok it make snooker interesting but come on man you aint doing yourself any favours...
I sometimes wonder if he could only just screw his head on right, he would be the best. But.....

I sometimes wonder if he could only just screw his head on right, he would be the best. But.....
Mark Williams summed it up perfectly after ronnie beat him saying "some of his breaks are just unthinkable to most players. Theres only one player in the tornament that can beat ronnie and its himself". this sums up ronnie perfectly, he's easily the best and most talented snooker player in the world but for gods sake its so annoying sometimes watching him when he cant be arsed playing, and lets his opponent scrape frames off his mistakes and impatient safety play
Ronnie = the Matt Le Tissier of snooker

When Ronnie is in the right frame of mind he is probably the best player in the world, he can do some amazing shit.
But....
He just cannot keep it up, sometimes he can manage a tournament but a lot of times he struggles to keep a level head inside a single game sometimes a frame :wack:
Its no good being an epic frame builder / potter or outright brilliant player if you can only do this half the time (or less so it seems these days ) and then play like a delinquent the rest as other great players will roll you over when they get the chance.

Well, Robertson through to the final and fair play, i hope he wins it, even though dott is playing super well too against selby, his safety play is excellent.

its looking to be a good final, i think dott deserved to the win over selby though, his pots when the cue ball was tight on the cushion were unbelievable... and safety play was very good too! be an interesting match tomorrow/monday because as JV's favourite word... there both very good cue-ist's!

jes... thats the first ive heard of that, a real shock... almost hard to believe as Higgins is such a brilliant ambassador to the game

That shot that Selby played whilst bridging over the green and possibly brown too? And potted that red  his fingers looked like they about to break.
Dott deserved it buy Selby didn't do himself any favours by missing that black on the last but 1 frame.
Bit shocked to see that about Higgins, you'd think he'd have more than enough money and pride to avoid doing something as stupid as that, if proven guilty.:indiff:

read through all that and listened to the interview and if after the investiagation he is found guilty of throwing frames theres a high possibility of him getting a life ban!!!

I really hope not as he is a HUGE presence on the snooker scene - the game wouldn't be the same without him
He is the last person i'd expect to get involved with stuff like that! :( just hope he's innocent and it's been a mix-up!

He would be the last person I would think that would be throwing frames. Why was he out there anyway? Ukraine seems to be a very strange place to be, regarding snooker business.
On the other hand, I just hope Dott doesnt win a 2nd title. It was bad enough Shaun Murphy winning it. (Massive Jimmy White fan)

The thing is, he'll get a life-time ban, the NOTW threatened to make more allegations next week (other players???) - just as the sport is beginning to make another rise, it's almost enough to dissolve it completely  :(
Not sure whether to be mad at Higgins or the money-making nothing-better-to-do journalists at NOTW!
Well, entertaining snooker last night anyway - can see the pressure and the tiredness getting to both. Fair play to Dott sticking it out, and pulling himself back into contention; could have easily gone the other way after 5 on the bounce

ya, dott played well in the last 2-3 frames but could easily have lost 8 frames in a row in that last session which would have been disastrous. i can see him playing much better today though.
He looked knackered

thats for sure, the way there potting it'll be the small hours before its over, robertson is looking good for it though
on another note... who were the two previous players to get a snooker ban and for what???
Glad Robertson won, dont rate dott at all, makes far too many mistakes. I lost count the amount of times the cue ball went in during the semi and the final :wack:
Selby should have beaten him

Never mind selby.... Mark allen should have beaten him in the quarters, but also martin gould should have def beaten robertson in the quarters!! i wasnt too pushed over which one won, but nice to see Robertson win it for his first time.... now thats over, all eyes on John Higgins:wack:

It wasn't a great final:wack:
However, I'm also glad Robinson won - cant put my finger on it - but there is something I dont like about Dott.
As for Higgins; I was dubious about the news as I heard it - assuming its some sensationalist news story with little proof.
However... having seen the video - there is little doubt in my mind he is guity as they come.
His 'excuse' that he feared for his saftey once the conversation started is understandable. However, he made it quite clear it was easy to throw a game and that he was willing to do so. Even going on to querying how then monies were going to get to him:indiff::wack:

I think Dott threw the match:nod::wack:
I have always liked watching snooker, I have been hooked since I was a kid when I watched Denis Taylor beat Steve Davis in my grannys house in 1985.But after watching that video I will always feel every time I watch, that the outcome has been predetermined. I know that match/frame fixing probably is, and has been, going on for a long time, the fact that Higgins was so relaxed during the deal confirms that, but ignorance was bliss. Every time there is an easy black missed. Every time a player claims he got a kick, that video will be in my mind. All snookers credibility is gone.

You could apply that same logic to pretty much any sport though?
I don't think it's lost its credibility at all. Sure Higgins has, if the rumors are true but I can't honestly say it's going to make me think that everybody is cheating.
What about penalty misses in football? Dropped catches in cricket? Miss-hits in tennis? Knockouts in boxing?

I agree. I dont think it has lost its credibility. It only ever really crosses my mind, when they do miss such an easy shot. Take for instance, Ronnie O'Sullivan. The most naturally gifted snooker player ever. Should never miss a shot. But some of the shots he does miss, do make you think. Maybe he's missing them deliberatley.
I just think that the video footage is against Higgins and his manager resigning isn't helping the matter. Other than that, i'm glad Robertson won!!

ya, fully aggree... no news on the matter now at all.
Hearn has now the majority share in charge of world snooker after a player vote and dott also managed by higgins ex manager has shown him the door too, but also came out publicly to say that he hopes higgins name will be cleared, so who knows what in the hell is going on!:annoyed:
