dunna 'bout gt3, but in gt2 the rs200 rally car in full tune was excellent for drifting:thumbs:

thejames i believe he said that cos of the ad slogan... ;)

anyway the car in front doesnt make it a good drifter.

a good drift car is something that makes it easy, i'd have thought. being a sad cargeek i've tried pretty much every car in GT3 and was surprised with my findings... its the Esprit V8 GT with about 800bhp. Drifting is SO easy. I don't know how. It's not just the power but it goes sideways and you can very easily control it. Maybe it's the way it delivers the power, or the suspension set up. If you want I can try to find my... notes... (yes I said i was a sad cargeek) on the settings. WAKE UP, I'M DONE!! :D

Not into it enough yet, but a mate found that with long gearing and plenty o power, the esprit is fast enough to win any race round an oval, just wedging the power button down and turning over and watching Eastenders or something .............  :D

I loved chucking the Dodge Viper around Autumn Ring Mini in GT2 and Trial Mountian In GT3 but didn't do that much drifting mostly winning races (still only 99% complete:mad:  )

Alg;) (Best of the bunch is CL55 at Autumn Ring Mini in GTConcept

LOL :D Whenever I decide I need more $$ I just get my F1 polyphony thing to "autodrive" an endurance oval for me while I watch telly or go for a drive :):) That or the 787B, or the ZZII, or the Zonda... variety, the spice of GT3 :)

Mazda RX-7 FC, 350bhp and control tyres :)
You can get so much more sideways with control tyres than you can with racing tyres, but it is much harder.

they are actually good cars for drifting, those Rufs...

i nearly entered that japukmeets GT3 drift comp in a pink boxster. would have been hilarious if i'd beat them all with their tuned skylines, supras etc. :D

I was gonna enter that Japmobiles comp in an AE86 with 140hp. Therefore i suggest either an AE86, an FC3s RX7 or any S Chassis Nissan..

Just use simulation tyres all round and it'll drift regardless of setup. Tuning the suspension just makes things nicer for the driver.

I modded an s14a to 800bhp on GT3 and it was the biggest heap of dung I have ever driven around a track on that game.

Just awful at cornering !

I use a fully modded s13 Silvia and run it round the "complex string" test track. It's good for drift practice as you can predict the curves as they generally get progressively bigger so you can judge the amount of lock and power you need easily.

How? I've seen them in the game and raced against them but I haven't been able to win one (yet)

What competition do you get it from?

You can just buy an S13 Silvia from the Nissan Garage.. They come in CA18DET and SR20DET flavours i think (somthing like 18k credits and 21k credits respectivly)..

Lenagh, how did you get an S14a to 800BHP? They max out at around 500BHP dont they?

you can do funny things some how.. i.e. custom turbo's etc..

never done it, but remember seeing it posted on the web somewhere..

2000bhp isnt uncommon..

I think there are a couple of bugs in GT3 coz there were a whole load of settings you could put on a Lotus Esprit and it would suddenly have a top speed of 1000mph or something equally silly.

It all depended on what combinations you put together.

Alg;) (found the S13 now D'oh:wack: )

For drifting it's the TVR's for me. Speed 12 is best if you use MANual shift and no traction control.

Dunc.
