Well, after the warm reception i got from chaps on my last thread (about the S14a running with the big boys at my first Sprint event) - I thought it would be an idea to run a thread of mine & the cars progress as i go through the season this year.
That is of course if admin have no issues?????

--------------------

So, my first round was at North Weald = 3rd in class.

This time out was at Honington RAF base in Sufolk.
After the issues i had in rnd.1, and by appreciated advice from here i fettled the rear suspension to tidy the handling, and also took 1 degree of ignition out from 4K to 5.5K to calm the aggressive spool up i had, and gain some traction.
All in all, the car was almost sublime!!!
Result - 3rd again, but this time i beat all who were at the last event, except our Porsche GT3RSR, which i have no reservations in saying i'll never catch that when corners are involved, lol.
Only thing is, after my last run i did a little celebrationary do-nut or 2, and now am the proud owner of a pair of destroyed rears tyres...... Opps, lol.

So, after 2 rounds things are looking good for a respectable Championship position :)

Next round - Nth Weald again, this Sunday coming!!!!

Well done, thats a really solid position. Action shots would be great, I think quite a few people would like to know your spec as well

I'll post the spec up later when I get home, but if you look closely you can see our company plastered across the car..... Take a stab at the web address and there's a slightly out of date spec on there ;)

Well, last round didn't go so well.... :( 6th place, and was all don to mixed weather and poor judgement by me... Not to mention a venue I hate, North Weald - bumpy as hell!!!!

Well in practice it poored down, but managed consistant 3rd through out..
On my 1st timed run I managed to close the gap on the 2nd place Ferrari down to 0.3s gap..... Then the circuit started to dry out, and my second run I caught a damp patch while braking hard for a corner and over shot... Still held onto the Ferrari though as he also went slower :)
this is where it all went wrong... 3rd run and dry circuit, time to make up the difference. So boost turned up to full, 508bhp on tap, what can go wrong???
That'll be the fast right hander with to rolling bumps in it. 2 big wheel arch scraps on the off side front and nothing!!! Lost nearly all power, everything on the dash went!!!!!
Limped it back, and after further inspection discover it had rubbed all the insulation off the loom in the arch and blew a few fuses.... Then sat and my time get demolished by a few others, and ended 6th :( Still, our Porsche brought home 1st again.....

Anyhow, the car is now under going surgery, and all going well, it'll be back this weekend at Hethal!!!!

Got some pix, will lout them up when I get home :)

And a picture at the point where the loom took the hit..... :( And yes, back wheel is up in the air due to the front being to soft, which im gonna take a look at :)

Well, just a quicky this week......

Had an uber hard one this week, with some immense cars. Venue was Hethel (which some may know is the Lotus development/test circuit at the Lotus factory).
Super quick circuit and actually managed to run full boost for the first time this season! Came 6th in the end, beating Ferrari's, Caterhams, Lotus Exige's, Porsche GT3RS, Cossies and even a 460bhp Evo 7 grip monster which believe me takes some doing on a track :)

Anyway, loved it, car was bang on the money and cant wait for this weekends round at Debden Airfield ;)

Awesome! Well done mate!

What championship is it? I want to get involved in something like this.

What suspension are you running? Might want to try firmer front suspension and more droop on the rear?
*Just had a look at the spec on your website. Its average, must be very well driven!!

Nismo_Nick

I'll put the next entry list up when it comes through, so you can see what's what..... ;)

Kam - what's average about a virtually full Tomei spec SR22? Lol..... Suspension wise it's still pretty basic though, just coily's and polyed. Set up is different now though, more aggresive camber on the front, heavier spring weight on fronts and difference is unreal. So much so that pulled a 3rd out last week ;)

Anyway back out again this weekend - Woodbridge Airfield... See how it goes ;)

I should have phrased that better :wack:
I meant in the handling department! The engine is a monster build :D

Well I'm in 3 championships, AEMC, ACSMC & ASEMC Sprints.... Hence why I've been out so many weekends in a row. ;)

Well heres the update from last round: 3rd AGAIN!!!!! (was so close to 2nd).....

Was a first time for every one @ MOD Woodbridge, and the course was unreal!!!! Tight chicanes, 4th gear straights, flowing 3rd gear flat bends, 2nd gear flat out left to rights over crests, oh it was wicked.... 2.9km heaven :)

Also go the unofficial title of showman of the day with the tight right into tight left over the finish, which obviously in a 200 was done very sideways, lol.

Someone asked for the entry list for my class, to see what i was up against, so here it is for yesterdays event:

In respective finishing order:

Porsche 996 GT3 (3600cc) - Very well sorted car, i know, its ours.... :)
Porsche 996 GT3RS (3600cc) - Fettled by the people who build GT3 cup cars
Nissan 200SX (2214cc) - ME!!!!!
BMW M3 (2009 model) - Has been remapped, and a few other trick bits
Ferrari 599GTB - No idea whats been done
Porsche 944 Turbo - This has had the full works, love this car for what it is :)
Ferrari 355GTB - No idea with this one.......
Triumph TR8 - Say no more about that....... lol
Jenson CV8 - Again, a bit to old to be competitive, but its all about the fun of it :)

Kam - If you wanna know more about getting into it, drop me a PM and we'll have a chat ;)

Just another quick update:

Had a month break between rounds, nice bit of recoop time.... So, was out the weekend at Abingdon Car-nival, and was a double header. Came 4th in both rounds, and so 4th overall, which was cool.
Also made a little discovery, Mr Jez Horsham holds the track rec on the 2nd circuit we did, since 2007!!! I was 1.2secs off his time, but expected on road Tyres :)
