View Full Version : Gt3
Right - Ive got heavily into playing GT3 and want to know some stuff :)
1) Does changing the oil/washing the car have any effect at all or is it just a way to waste money??
2) Is power or suspension a better bet for beating things??
3) ATM I have a STi scoob, an old RX-7, a turboed SLK, a 350 hp MX-5 - are any of these worth keeping or should I set my sights on something better (skyline/soopra etc.)
4) Why on earth did the RX-8 I won cost 75,000??
5) Is there anything else worth knowing??
Cheers

When is there NOT a sale on at DFS?
Changing the oil does make a difference. If you run a car for long enough you'll see the oil warning light appear and you'll find it's bhp figure has dropped. Even changing the oil when you first buy a car can free a few extra horses. :D
Try this site if you want any tips on suspension setups.

You want the F1 car :D
Handling is very important as once you start losing grip you have to ease off on the power which costs you in time...
When you've finished GT3, you can then practice drifting for years to come!
Aye, I know the F1 car is the nutts and means youll win everything .................. but I dont want to do it like that. Sorta cheating if you know what I mean ................
Ill try the oil change tonight then I reckon :)
Any more for anymore?? Is one of the Silvias/200s worth buying and spending a bit on, or am I better of staying with the scoob/RX-7?? :)

Max out the MX5 and make sure the gearing is long, then keep doing the test track on intermediate turbo challenge (I think) and you should always win... Then buy a R34 and that will beat most things...
An midly tuned EVO 7 will do most things in Beginer and Amatuer, though the 2 races to look at winning are Race of the red Emblem Professional - tune a Skyline to the max (win a Calsonic Skyline) and Like the Wind Professional - standard Viper with 1000bhp and longest gearing (win the Mazda LM car).
Also the Super Speedway endurance is fairly easy to win with only a midly tuned car.

The main probs I have is when you get cars like a 1000 bhp Skyline or even a 1800bhp Escudo, you can't seem to race them in the professional leagues as the tyres go bald before the second lap:mad:
Dan,
Just buy a Supra.... Modd it to the max... get rid of traction control, put on shite tyres... Load up Midfield 2 (wrong way racing) and drift away....
You can have hours of fun here..

I spent a lot of time doing the Honda championships in a modded Integra Type R, so that I won lots of money and lots of Acura Rsxs. I then sold the whole lot and became very rich and bought some proper cars!!!!

well, if you want to do it the man's way, get a TVR Tuscan and compete in as many of the races as you can. Oh yes and turn off the TC and SC which doesn't exist in reality (one of the annoying things about GT3 is that every car has TC and SC as standard even if its not true IRL).

Classic!
A good head start (some may call it cheating:p ) in GT3, is complete or find someone who has completed GT3 concept. One of the bonus prizes in concept is the ability to update amemory card so you can start GT3 with all licenses (only bronze) and 10,000,000 credits. :D
how can you change oil mid champioship
and
is there like a drift curcuit you can practice on when you complete the game :) ?
Edit: Sorry logged in as Hayley :o , not me - AndyT
AFAIK you cannot change the oil mid championship, same as you cannot change it in the endurances.
Don't know about the best drifting circuit though, but Complex String in "Run and Settings" might be quite good.
When you buy a new car, take it for a razzle for a few minutes, then change the oil; the power output will rise a few bhp.
The nicest car to drive that I've found (waits for flaming and runs) is a fully tuned fully lightened Integra type-R. Feels good to beat NSXs (just) in it. Drives brautifully.
When you can, go for a Skyline. Stupidly tunable, and once you got a good'un, you can win most things in it. Although I always find the steering of 4wd cars in GT3 very dull - understeery and hard to get around corners, even compared to fwd. Scooby & Evo suck a bit.
