I have one, it works very well ;) VERY robust, I've crashed it many times, I've never broken anything
Not very fast though which is good when you want to learn.

I've also got the CX2 version which quite nice but very very fragile. One crash = parts to change

My house mate and I have them, awsome fun, easy to fly and stable enough to set up stupid hard assualt course's. You will have hours of fun, plus on the rare chance of damage the parts are really cheap.

I also have the Eflite Blade Msr, which handles like a full size heli, and a dam site more difficult to fly, but still good fun.

Looks 4 channel which is probably a first for a chopper of that size

The mCX starts to be something very well engineered.

Mine is a 4 channel indoor helicopter. Just not as well engineered :wack:. But then when I fly it into the wall when I'm pissed for the umpteenth time, when it does eventually break I am quids in - I can have at least 3 before I have even come close to the cost of the eFlight Blade mCX ;).

Besides all of which, my 3 channel Chinook is actually better to fly anyway :)

yep, can't beat E-flight IMO. I've had a Blade CX2 and it was pretty damn incredible! Took heaps of abuse, all i needed was some uprated landing bars and bendy blades and it was near enough indestructible.

The MCX is a great bit of kit too, just a scaled down version... rock solid to fly out the box and easy to get the hang of, go for it!

Ok I too drunkenly bought one :wack:

And frankly it's fooking amazing  :notworthy

It's by FAR the best mini heli I've flown so far (it'll actually properly hover for a change and I can land it accurately on stuff  )

Only problem I've had so far is that it doesn't last long enough :(

Did come with a USB cable to charge the heli though  (So I've got it plugged into my PS3 :D )

I think I may be getting this mini heli bug :wack:

you should try the E-FLITE BLADE mCX

If it cost ~£15 to my door, then I probably would. But at nearly 4 times the price, I don't see the point when one of these flies around my living room or office just as well :)

Robbhp
09-06-2010, 19:19
cost wise they are not in the same league but if you like the small helis and want something that will push your skill level to the next step then go for the blade MSR, dream to fly but not child's play like the rest of the small 3 channel units.

Aitch
09-06-2010, 19:35
I'm not interested in pushing myself - I want an easy to fly, accurate helicopter for as little money as possible so that if I crash it and damage it, I don't have to worry about cost. It's all just waggling sticks at a toy, regardless of how many channels, so if a three channel is cheaper and easier to fly, it suits me fine :)

JuZ

No not really, unless you're planning on upgrading to something bigger/better in the future.

Aitch
11-06-2010, 13:18
I've dabbled with the bigger helicopters and I've found I just don't have time to fly them because of having to travel somewhere with enough space to fly them. Then there is all the messing about changing and charging batteries after only a few minutes flight, if you are using a battery powered one :wack:.

And then there is the aforementioned cost - I've got a Skylift Twister in bits that I've only flown a handful of times and will cost a fair wack to rebuild, if I can even find the parts . For the price I bought it for I could have had about 8 cheap indoor ones, which would have been flown far more often

So I have come to the conclusion that I will only spend ~£20 or less on indoor ones that I can fly while I am watching telly or relaxing. And so far, the little red thing has been the best of all of them - it flies where I want it to fly, with little difficulty and few crashes :).

Yep, its great fun:nod:

The only slight niggle would be forward and reverse flight. It simply wont go backwards and the forward seems to give a burst of forward motion then gradually decrease. I can still control it with enough precision to land it on a coaster which I haven't been able to do with any others I've owned or tried:)

bit of a revival of an old thread,

having had a few cheapie cheap heli's, i went and bought one of these today

http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=29848

What a machine!! i have had 3 channel heli's before, but these have a gyro,

definately rekindled my love for the little buggers, gonna look into some flight sim software and a controller and get some 4 channel practice in,

the fella in the model shop was spot on, and had plenty of eye candy on display, hopefully going to look into something bigger i can fly outdoor, as there are apparantly a few flying clubs over here which i never knew about! :)

I rocked it so hard I managed to break a tail rotor (but had a spare) but then I seem to have broken the bit where the top rotor mounts to the driveshaft - it seems to be a tilting jobber to allow the rotorhead a bit of movement - is it fixable do you know??

Also, is there anywhere that does spares, as while the things are cheap I dont want to be shelling out £15 P+P and waiting a week every time I break something :)
