View Full Version : Vinyl to digital copying?
Can it be done? I have a huge collection of records, some of which I would like to put onto cd as they are long deleted recordings so I will never be able to get them in CD format. Is there any way of using my hifi to transfer the music onto my PC and then burn it to disk?
The cheapest option would be to have a look behind your hifi for what output options you have, and then finding the approriate wire/connector at your local audio equipment specialist to connect to the input connector on your PC's soundcard. It would then be a matter of playing the record and recording it on the PC using some software. I'm sure there are some freely downloadable software on the web that will be able to not only record your music, but will be able to cut the intros and outro as well as take away the vinyl 'noise' if you do so wish - although personally, I love hearing vinyl noise on recorded dance music mixes I listen to. :D
I have decks (I mix dance music), and used to have my decks connected to my PC to record the mixes I did. :)
You might find some software if you have a look on good old www.downloads.com
Here are my search results...
