help pls from you experienced mechanics ;)

am trying to get an alternator off a GTiR and believe me, space to work in is NOT good!

i have taken the adjuster bolt off and made things easy to get to by removing the top hose of the rad, managed to undo the hinge bolt from underneath the car and thought hey presto but NOOOOOO - the bloody bolt wont slide out past the manifold so i have to take the whole bracket off

Problem with that is accessibility..... the bolt at the top of the bracket is partially obscured by the alternator so getting a short socket on it is possible, but i cant squeeze a drive behind and into the socket so its all a bit pointless :( The two bolts underneath are just as much heartache as its all about working under the car and leaning over the top of the A/C.

Anyone any suggestions of what tools i can get hold of to make this easier? have heard ppl going on about "wobble sockets" but have no experience of using these so dont know where i can get one from let alone how they work - although i assume they are just like a bendy extender bar in principle?

Really need ur help here guys :(

If you can get an open ended spanner on the nut or bolt you want to undo, then use a 1/4 inch extension bar on the top for leaverage.

can get a spanner on the top nut - albeit after i've bent it to a 35 degree angle cos its tight against the side of the lump  but i very much doubt id be able to get a spanner on the 2 underneath the alternator :( a socket is gonna have to be the way i think

Is it access that the main problem or the fact it wont undo? If it wont undo have you soaked it in duck oil or similar? and have you tried hitting the bolt to loosen it off and then have a go with the spanner again
