Newsgroups

I feel a complete t1t asking this question as I work in IT but how do you setup and use Newsgroups using Outlook Express? cos I've never used Newsgroups before and I've been told you can get alkinds from them ;)

Easy...

1) Open OE and go to Tools and then Accounts

2) Click on the News Tab then the Add Button

3) Choose News The put in your details (Name & Email Add)

4) Then put in the name of the news server you require. You will be able to find this out from your service provider (ie. news.freeserve.net)

5) Then Finish. Now look in the bit where your folders for OE are and there will be a new one at the bottom called news.freeserve.net just double click on that and it will ask you to download a list of groups.

BTW if you want to get "All sorts of stuff" its better to use a different newsgroup reader, like Agent or News Reactor ;)

What field of I.T. do you work in, Paul :) (just curious!!!)

Andy: I work in allkinds mainly Network and Desktop, we've got a Windows 2000 server network with a SQL, Exchange, ISA and PDC/file server.

Theirs only about 60 users which is good cos it gives me chance to learn new stuff as the company grows as I've only worked in IT for around 3 years but all my knowledge is self taught and I'm doing my MCSA at the moment.

I dont know of any good one, but i just done a search on google and this site came up.
