Just noticed that my mouse has a middle button  I know it's a stupid question, but what's it for? I've tried clicking it - it does nothing - and windows CP (Win ME btw) doesnt reference it at all!

It usually activates a internet scroll function which allows easier navigation of the net and documents etc. You're computer is probably not set up for a three button mouse if it is not doing anything. So go into control panel and sort it out ;)

Windows control panel doesnt give me a central mouse button - see below. Am I missing something?

Ah, I see you're problem. You must have to install the mouse or something? Best speaking to who knows about such things instead of me  :o

Dunc.

Yup, most certainly needs correct drivers to work. Which mouse is it? Microsoft, Logitech ... ? Go to their website for some drivers. . . Good luck  .

I'd guess, roughly, the that you're missing the option for a middle button.

As the guys said, check for newer versions of the drivers, either with teh software when you bought the mouse or on the manufacturer website.
The wheel is great - and isn't jsut for scrolling. You can configure it to do anything - open the start menu, clse windown, you name it. It won't make Microsoft stable tho...
