I'm a bit of a Rodriguez fan to be honest - his films are brainless and all the better for it - so I'm rather looking forward to seeing this

Can't be any worse than the AvP 'franchise' :wack:

It's a Predator's dog silly :wack:

I have faith in Mr. Rodriguez, so I hope it won't be poop. It's set directly after Predator and obviously before Predator 2 as that was in the footure don't-cha-know.

Predator - Brilliant
Predator 2 - Very Good
AvP - Good
AvP Requiem - The worst film ever made.

Hopefully this will be at the Predator end of the scale.

looks pretty good, bit lame when he gets loads of laser sights on him though, if there were that many predators im sure they would manage to kill all those people in about 10 minutes.

Nice to see the addition of a hand held minigun though, and also morpheus (thats how he shall always be know) had some massive futursiticy looking gun. I reckon it'll be ok, worth a watch for the inevitable gun porn.

Lol! Indeed he is.

I think its because I watched boyz in the hood the other day when he was alot younger!

I just watched the trailer again and realised they emphasize on the fact 1 is a Yakuza compared to everyone else!

How can you?? Predator 2 is as good as the first :wack:

Will agree though the AVP was a bunch of toss defo the 2nd one, this dose look pretty cool though.

Defo a big screen for this one

Although i really enjoyed both AVP fims i do understand that they are both rubbish, but do have some exstreamly cool bits in them. First AVP really showed the the Predator with some funky cool weapons we hadn't seen. The sewer scene in Requiem where the Predator has to do a double shot to stop himself being sliced by his own laser grid and the death of the love interest. It doesn't matter that its bad for me as long as there is cool fight scenes, cool weapons and lots of people horribly.

Loved Predator, enjoyed Predator 2 (have both on DVD)

Thought AVP was so bad I didn't even bother going to see AVP requim :wack:

This looks pretty cool though, back to basics is always a favourite.

Big guns and a jungle but no Arnie.

2 outta 3 ain't bad :D

You got it in one! Just finished watching it. To put it simply it is a remake of Predator. Really disappointed. If you haven't seen the first predator then you'll think it's ok. But as a die-hard Predator fan, you will be let down. Hardly any gore and poor acting throughout. Fishbourne could of been a lot better as well.

Predator is just too hard to top. The Rodrigez film I'm looking forward to is Machette.

The next film I'll watch in the cinema is Inception.

il be going to watch this just cause i love the first film, fishbourne isnt the best actor though tbh, and why the hell is he mr T in the new A team film :wack: .

Inception looks pretty cool, im quite liking De Caprio lately, Shutter island was quite a good film.

Also Killers is quite a funny chick flik :ghey:

Why are they going over an old story for ! Best films ever are yesterdays, IIRC , 1978/79 Star Wars - 1991 Terminator 2.

I dont want to give too much away. Its not a complete remake, but there are no new ideas or concepts. I loved the first Predator, wasnt a fan of Predator 2 and as for the AVP's....

Got home and stuck on Aliens, just to realise how a film should be made.

IIRC it is based on a graphic novel set just after the first film.

i saw this last night, i enjoyed, but expected more to be honest, especially as Rodriguez was on it, he should have directed it tbh, although he did write this script in 1994 and the studio turned it down, they wanted to do it now but corners were cut for tax reasons, or so it says, although theres a lot of potential for prequels and sequels with the different characters and the new breed.

What i dont get about the film is the same as in the 'new' terminator, great concept and great ideas but they tone down the violence so more people can see it making them more money......

only issue is.... that this means you cant see what they are running from or scared of throughout the film so takes all the impact away, not seeing someone getting torn to bits then everyone running just isnt the same.

We get charged full rate for a half rate film..... when will they learn

Id give it 6 out of 10 slightly dissapointed, Having a fat Lawrence Fisbourne as the only survivour was a big casting error imo.

Also the big Predator kept dissapearing for long spells when his victims were really close I can only assume hes a smoker and after a tussle has to have a fag to calm down.

Looks like it could be entertaining. The bar was set pretty high by the original Predator film,

Saw it tonight. It was good for sure, entertaining.

But............

(SPOILER ALERT! DO NOT READ ON!)

It was a carbon copy of the first film! Hench guy with Minigun, One man stand off against the Predator by the Yakuza (Billy from the first film), the end battle!

Bit of a let down really

i thought this film was absolute toilet, its so inconsistant its unreal, also you barely see anyone actually get killed, hours of talkin and about 2 mins action. also everyone in the jungle was pussys basically, the original predator film had a whole bunch or hard as nails dudes in the jungle and this lot were shite.

and when theyre by the river and the woman says that mud camouflaged people from the thermal vision of the predator... why didnt they get some mud from the river and cover themselves from the perfect place..... the river!

Taken at face value it was pretty passable. Quite enjoyed it, although it asked more questions than it actually answered.

Spoiler Alert:

When they found the dead Marine? Why did they find a dead Marine? Why did they not take him for a trophy???

The “dogs” were a nice addition, although the sniper rifle can take one out with a single shot yet the minigun can’t cut one down with less than 1000 rounds? :wack:

Dr. bloke just didn’t fit and to a lesser extent the criminal.

This is such a great franchise and yet they’ve really managed to fcuk it right up so far :annoyed:

Watched this tonight on Bluray and actually enjoyed it - more so because stuff was lifted wholesale from the original film.

Enjoyable nonsense and definitely a 'leave the brain at the door' movie. Rent? Yes. Buy? Maybe. Picture looked a bit 'washed out' in places :( .

Must add, as a final note, I wonder if Adrien Brody went to the same voice coach as Christian Bale did for Batman :wack: .

One thing I did forget to mention. It's nowhere near the quality of the original but I do think it holds it's own and is a million times better than the AvP movies
