Anyone tried "My mate from South Africa / Russia / Argentina was driving my car then, but he's gone home & will never return to the UK" trick ? I have heard that plod usually drop it if a foreigner was driving because they can't get a conviction against them.

I did this site for a customer, he seems very confident he can do what he says he can. Obviously he wouldn't tell me exactly what he does do, all I know is he is some kind of legal guy...

Worth going to him if you do have a speeding conviction, might just save 3 lil black marks on the old license :)

And RichardK I absolutely never speed. The very suggestion. :p Oooh except t'other week when I had to (JUST HAD TO) vtec in a pathetic attempt to catch an S13 that I'd spotted up ahead. I never spot any 2hundies and when I do I can't catch 'em. Not fair

'spose you might get away with paying the fine, but the legal fees maybe greater. :(

How very illegal. I wonder what will happen if the police get onto this. I assume he takes none drivers with clean licences and you pay the fine and a small fee for the person to own up for you.

A nice money making scam for none drivers and I assume he creams off a percentage.

I am sure many couples have done this. I wouldn't like to risk entering into such a dodgy deal with a comlete stranger.

How about this though.

What happens if you have a foreign licence. Say you are from france and you get stopped speeding. I assume you will be summonsed to court and end up paying a fine. I know for a fact that they can't put points on your licence. It aint english.

WHat would happen if I had a residence abroad and got a french licence. Then drove round in England and just showed that.

I don't know what the score is relating to foreign licences but I am interested to find out. Anyone know any facts or point me in the direction of legislation relating to this I would be most obliged.

If you give your name to the police and you had both a foreign and english licence how would they know if you had an english licence? I mean could someone end up with two licences. Use the UK one when in france and the french one when in UK.

Sounds like a dodgy scam but I know it has worked for one of my friends.

how about a group buy on a spanish villa. Everyone registers as lving there in the club. We all get french licences. We all get share a nice holiday home in spain.

Cool idea.

How many are there of us?

2713 members

£100 each makes
£271300

I reckon a large 10 bedroom house.

7.4 people per day could stay there for each day of the year.
I reckon a 10 bedroom house should see us good for aweekend each.

I pledge £100 now who else????

Why of course. And before Holly Honda there was Celia the Celica. When Si T had an 'off' in his 2***** just recently and was the proud (temporary) owner of a Micra, I named her Molly. Holly and Molly cute huh?....;) Don't tell him I said but Si often referred to the micra as Molly...hehe :D

It's a loop hole in the law. If you know about it, you can get out of it. He's a legal guy of some sort.

And no, I don't know what the loop hole is else I'd be doing it!!! ;)

Sounds very much like perverting the course of justice to me. Not exactly something we should be advertising on an open forum.

My mate has an Irish licence and lives up in Scotland. When he got done speeding he sent it to the cops to get points put on but they couldn't put points on it. So instead they put them on his Scottish/UK licience IF he every gets one. But he's got an Irish licience so he'll never need to get another one = still got a clean licience  Wonder if this would work for bans!!!

Dunc.
