View Full Version : Can we discuss the SXOC Le Mans stickers?
Right, I've been having a think about this, and it's getting complicated.
1. The design
Assuming everyone's happy with the basic design, we'd have the choice of two stickers, and we'd need a minimum of 9 of each ordering for Hollographics' minimum order size. They would be 600 x 270mm.
Black on clear vinyl:

2. The cost.
To order 30 of them (15 pairs) and get them sent to one place, costs £190 + VAT, or £223.25, which is £7.44 per sticker.
However, this is only half the job, as they'd then need repacking and reposting, which is more complicated, as they're quite large stickers, so would probably need to be rolled and posted in tubes. These would then need posting as packets, which is £2.14 for first class, or £2.89 for recorded first class.
So in all, you'd be looking at £17.02 or £17.77 plus whatever the repacking costs, for two SXOC stickers.
Is it worth it? :)
Wont a sticker that size on clear vinyl look naff with all the bubbles :wack:
I can price them up if you want and sort of the delivery etc :)
It's easy to put a sticker on of that size, just make sure you spray plenty of water on the back before applying. Done it loads of times with mine.
Try having a word with Driftworks? They have a vinyl cutter and have done me some single colour one-offs in the past for much cheapness :thumbs:

With the design having multiple parts, they can often be a pain in the arse to put on, clear vynil will make it so much eaier :)

erm....
surely it would come with application tape making it nice and easy:confused:
imho i would rather fit it cut from one colour than printed at that size:nod:, but what would i know:wack:
The stuff I've had from them has a backing sheet and is on an application sheet. Remove backing sheet, stick whole thing on, peel off application sheet, job done.

thats how it should be, just curious how it would be easier to do a clear sheet 600mm x 270mm.
By the time you have stuck you fingerprints on there,all the dust from your garage floor, a few bubbles and a crease of grand canyon magnitude it will look pants:nod:

i'd be happy with either a pair of clear vinyl prints or a pair of single colour vinyl cut-outs :)

Ive always spoked to Bon, but reckon any of them can help. Make sure you say its for the SXOC, eh?? :)

i have said to Tom i will do these for the club. if people can tell me how many of what colour they want i will sort them asap...
not 100% on price yet, will be done through a company called DAT i work for.
looking at circa £9 posted. if thats off any interest. i may get a slap for this by the ods, but genuinly dont wana see people paying shed loads for stickers when i know it can be done cheaper.
they wil be cut stickers, no clear vinyl etc.
if your interested in a group lot or singles, let me know.

not that i will be having one, but i can tell you now, as your man above says, £17 is ridiculous. thatll prob cost a couple of pounds to make. id say £9 posted is far more realistic
may be able to do cheaper if i do it after hours :D .. aiming for circa 7 quid lol
As I'm going to be in the van with Grazor and Parker I guess we'd like a couple of the biggest mofo stickers going, I suspect the van will be white so anything dark would do for us :thumbs:

okies, well if someone wants to get a number of how many they want...colour etc then ill sort it out no problems at all.
in regards to big'uns..will do em seperatly, may be a tad more than £9 depending on size though!

I'll take 3 as well, perhaps a big version for the bonnet and 2 smaller ones for the sides.
Andy, Dan and I usually just order a load of stuff from Hollographics, Pistonheads and add some Surrey Rolling Road stickers along with whatever else we happen to have sitting around. Going to order mine within the next week.

these stickers would not use clear vinyl... just the actual image would stick.

I don't mind about having clear vinyl or not. I'd prefer white text but black is ok if we have to for the van etc.
White looks much brighter etc..... Does anyone have a white car coming or just the Van?

i'm a little worried that with the cut vinyl the thin line around the letters might not be too easy to apply? but then with the clear vinyl stickers i'll probably loose half my lacquer as i peel them off :D
i have done a few really thin ones on mine and they have been ok, as long as the surace it nice and clean there is ususaly no problems.. also, on 600x270mm that line will be reasonably large i think.

i'm a little worried that with the cut vinyl the thin line around the letters might not be too easy to apply? but then with the clear vinyl stickers i'll probably loose half my lacquer as i peel them off :DShouldn't be a problem - the vinyl will come (I presume) with application paper on the front of it which will hold everything in the right place. The 'thin' lines are actually about 2.5mm wide, when it's scaled up to 600mm wide altogether.
Just need to make sure the application paper is thoroughly soaked through and it should peel off without a problem :thumbs:
So what's happening with the stickers, I've just ordered mine from Hollographics.

whn do they need to be done by? realisticly they will not take ages to make, just the sending out etc etc etc
Le Mans is 12/13th June but people will need them by the weekend before at the lastest as people will be leaving the Wed/Thurs before :)
