Weekender 2010 Convoy

Hi there everyone.

I mentioned this in the booking thread, but thought i may as well have a thread just for the convoy, so as it doesnt get lost :).

I am up for starting a convoy to go to the Weekender this year, just looking to see who else would like to join in?

A starting point can be finalised nearer the time, once we know who will be wanting to meet up and therefore people dont have to go out of their way to get to it :wack:

Not sure whether the Essex guys and girls would like to join in too?

I finally got the Two Tone in, and started smoothing the engine bay,... Hopefully it will look good enough to distract people from the rest of the car ? :wack:

Well my memory is so good that i can't remember what time we set off last year, so thinking maybe myself, the hall and whoever else meet at the car park by Knoll Roundabout at around 9:30am ish but i have no idea how long it will take to get to the services.

Google maps claims the journey should be 55mins. So 1030 onwards for M40 Oxford sounds sensible...

we have about 6 weeks work packed into 12 days, so you can imagine the chaos! all ee can do is give it our best, even if its not ready the ride has been insane,I cant thank will and the guys enough.

Just a quick update to the details of the Weekender, i am picking the tent of epic win up tomorrow afternoon, and so far myself and the hall are the only occupants, leaving a space for at least 1 more if needed :).

Have spoken to Seagal, and confirmed that we will both be taking our BBQs of joy for added food cooking win, but this time we will have cooking implements (last year we used various tools, a screwdriver being one of the obvious ones :D).

Beer has been bought (2 cases of 15 Kronenbourgs for £15 in Sainsburys) and some food also. I have 2 cold boxes and a polystrene cool box thingy to store food and beverages, so will just need ice.

Really looking forward to this, just hope the weather holds up for us, as it has been gorgeous thus far :nod:, and last year was fantastic until the evenings, lol

I'll be coming out of London on the A40 picking up the M40 - so depending on time I could tag in too on the bike :thumbs:


Oh, and I don't know how much of a diversion you guys would be up for but the A44 up to Chipping Norton is a MUCH better bit of road than the A40, and then you can cut down the B4450 through to Stow on the Wold, and the B4077 through after that. I've done those roads on the bike before and they're awesome.

1st meet up is the carpark by Knoll Roundabout at around 9-9:30am, then that convoy will be stopping off at the M40 Services to meet up with the rest at around 10:30am depending on traffic.

Then it is a straight run to Prescott Hill :)

Sorry to hear abut your accident. Heard you may need new S14a Head lights is that true? I bought these from a Nissan Dealer in the North West and yes it broke my heart,robbing gets lol. These lights are in mint condition and i will accept £225 this is including postage to UK. I will post some pics when i get chance to get them on here but i promise they are in great condition and we can arrange for delivery within hours of payment. I assure you these items will be packed and ready to fit with new bulbs also for piece of mind. Since i took them out and put my European headlights back in, these have been boxed. I am a serving soldier i am not going to rip you off. We can talk about that at a later date when we have agreed and your happy etc.
