I work fixing puters all day, i want someone else's input.
I built my pc a little while ago.
It has worked fine in every single game/app/thing.
Until i loaded a game called eve, this game is the most bug ridden piece of dog turd i have ever had the misfortune to play.
But...still giving it a chance (since i payed for 3 months to play it).
My pc locks up repeatdly when running it, i get blue screens/momory dumps.
The machine complains about improper cpu settings if and when it boots.
The monitor turns itself off but the pc stays on.
could a game do all this?
bearing in mind i have to reboot my pc about 7 times an evening when playing it.
have you tried uninstalling it and see if it goes back to normal
Nah, the game wouldn't have affected the BIOS.
Sounds like a coincidence to me. Checked your CPU fan for dust?? (or is it even running).
Sounds like either a memory problem or it's overheating.

i have changed the ram, processor.

I have a feeling it doesn't like AMD cpu's

Could well be your motherboard drivers. If its VIA based then get their latest 4 in 1 pack. They are full of patches to hardware bugs.
I assume your computer works fine apart from the game?
the VIA 4 in 1s are now called 'Hyperion' drivers if it helps searching :)
update all drivers etc
the BIOS is probably just complaining after reboot as it wasnt shut down properly. if it locks up under certain conditions, it may think the processor locked up from being overclocked and is getting you to check as a precaution. is your PC just getting too hot playing this game?
I was in the Eve beta.... and it wasnt anywhere near ready when they shipped it. :(

i left my pc on all night downloading music, and it was fine :/
the newest via drivers are installed for the motherboard.
eve could be a good game.

is this game a 3d one. if it is then there could be a lot of strain put on your psu as some of the newer 3d cards do tend to pull a shed load of juice when running. also try turning up the agp voltage in you bios a tad. My machine does this a lot in 3d games but then i am pushing my luck a bit with overclocking it so far.
more volts = more heat, so if heat is your problem, upping voltage can make it worse :)
downloading all night isnt really a stress test, nothing is having to work particularly hard. you could get prime95 which is a good stress of the CPU and tests stability under load.

When i first built the PC i run prime95 and the cpu temp only got 4c hotter than when it was doing nothing, i left it running for about 4 hours, no problems.
I did have a slightly problem when i used the chip at its faster speed (the chip i got is used the faster core and the mothorboard picks it up as 2700 without overclocking) it didn't like running in prime95.
My chip is a 2100.
I think something is a bit funny on it though.
you could check for dust buildup that might affect its cooling... or the game may simply be bug-ridden and falling over like it was when I tested it...

Eve of Destruction, the MMO game ?
If so, yes it has issues.
No it won't screw your PC about that much!
