These type of threads... really crack me up... it so reminds me off the time when i was IT support.....

the most annoying ones are... I have just saved a file but I lost it...

It goes:

Her: I have just saved a document and now I cant find it... its lost
Me: Where did you save it?
Her: How the hell am I meant to know.... u work in the IT department... you tell me...

at this point... there are 2 ways out... 1 hang up... 2 hang up....

Or even better.

I've been working on this document all day (ie like 9 hours) and now Word has crashed.

Me: Ok, when was the last time you saved.

Them: I havent yet ........

.................

So you've worked on a document for 9 hours and not saved. I think you deserve to lose it!!

Or the one:
"Hi, Word has just crashed, has the WHOLE world got a problem? Is the network down?"

"No, my dear, Word has just crashed...."

Also:

"Hi, is there a problem with the network?"

"Yeah, its just gone down, being looked at now"

"How long wil it take?"

At this point i want to say, "oh roughly 23 minutes, 14 seconds and a bag of crisps, you STUPID IDIOT!!! How am i supposed to know!!!! When its fixed!!!!"

Awful....fookin awful. Sick of people who cant be arsed to do anything to help us help them......

Few pointers for people who use PC's.......

> When you call us to have your computer moved, be sure to leave it buried
> under half a ton of postcards, baby pictures, stuffed animals, dried
> flowers, bowling trophies and children's art. We don't have a life, and
we
> find it deeply moving to catch a fleeting glimpse of yours.

> Don't write anything down. Ever. We can play back the error messages from
> our video recording.

> When an IT person says he's coming right over, go for coffee. That way
> you won't be there when we need your password. It's nothing for us to
> remember 300 screen saver passwords.

> When IT Support sends you an e-mail with high importance, delete it at
> once. We're just testing.

> When an IT person is eating lunch at his desk, walk right in and spill
> your problems right out. We don't even like eating food, we exist only
to
> serve.

> Send urgent e-mail all in uppercase. The mail server picks it up and
flags
> it as a rush delivery.

> When we do something as a favour in our own time at our own expense, feel
> free to criticise us.

Yeah it's been fcuking crazy here today (and the poxy phone is ringing again as I type ... "Good evening IT Support, how can I help". Oh bugger I was supposed to say that not type it :(

We've had about 3 people on the phones (instead of the usual 9-10) and had a constant queue of about 10 calls :(

WAAAA

Dave seriously yes I do. Hellish shifts won't bother me for that kind of money.

Actual call I received from a user a couple of years ago, I've got dozens like this so will post 'em tomorrow when I get into work, this'll do for now tho :D

User : Hello, I'd like report that I've lost my laptop
Me : Wasn't it locked up? (they have chains that hook up through a hole in the side of the laptop and into the desk)
User : Yes, to a chair, that's gone too...

You've never had any as good as our IT Department, we work on Macs right....
If something goes wrong and you call them to sort it out, Their solution is either....

1. Zap the P ram
2. Rebuild the desktop
3. Throw away your prefrences
or if all else fails re format your computer!!!!

I dont think Ive ever known them to actually fix something properly.
