Does anybody in the Wakefield / W.Yorks area know where I can get my hands on a 50 quid-ish motor, any make, model, colour, condition that has or will pass MOT.

Gonna attempt my first strip down and rebuild of my S13

Getting up at 5am to get on 2 buses to work is starting to get on my t*ts

Grateful for any help,

Jonny.

Doesn't really seem to be much for that sort of money on there at the mo'.
Might check out the salvage yards tomorrow aft. One in York seems to have plenty of Fessies with just dents and damaged locks for 50 quid.:wack:

It can cost that to scrap a car these days. Some people may be prepared to part with still OK cars for basically sod all.

Also try Ebay. You may get lucky ;)

I passed a car for sale at a garage for 95 quid on the way to Wakefield on Sunday. Fiat uno or panda i think. Not sure exactly where (don't know the area that well and was too busy trying not to get lost). It was on the main road going from the M62 through Dewsbury towards Wakefield (A638??). It was parked on the grass on the right hand side of the road outside a shady little forecourt ... must have been a trade in they want rid of in a hurry.

There's also a few really cheap car dealers in Bradford.. loads of cars for under 200 quid. I'll try and have a look if i'm passing that way later in the week.

I got my first car (mk2 Astra 1.3) for free :) although we did have to spend £100 on it to get it MOT'd. Plus I got £10 back when I scrapped it, would have been £16 but they charged for the tyres.

it was "Thank yourself lucky were not charging you to scrap this" :D

I got 25 quid for my sierra 2.0 overhead cams.... which i bought two days earlier for £125.... which on mot had a cracked and bent rear axle (which meant you got the back out every roundabout :D - on an estate!!)

Man, you guys really get cars for free over there. :(

Please tell me it was an old E30 beemer, not an E36? Anyways, cars are insanely cheap in UK. Nevermind them being with the gay kind of steering from the passenger side. ;)

It wasn't always like this - cars were well over priced over here until quite recently. Good if your buying a car, bad if you want to sell!!

Ive always found "Its not what you know, but who you know" ...........
When I was looking for a runaround after the Nissan went for a stroll in the countryside I was offered:
16v Astra
24v Granada Cossie (I wanted this)
Golf Gti
Saab Turbo
S12 Silvia
all for ~£250 with a years ticket through a mate who runs a garage :)
In the end the Delta only cost me £450 :D

And the scirocco was £50 :D

Straight up, if I had the space Id own about 15 cars by now
