I had one for hayfever, of all things. As I rolled up my sleeve, the doctor shook her head and told me to drop my trousers. I couldn't sit down for two days - it bloody hurt. But it worked :)

Mate of mines wife is having this at the moment for her poorly back, one side done last year was successful but the one done at xmass was not, mainly due to the spackers injecting it in the wrong place so she has to go back.

I personally could live with being jabbed in the bum by Aitch :D

There was bugger all to it  The reports of tremendous pain and needles the size of scaffolding poles were nothing but a pile of steaming bovine excrement :smash: I have to wait another month before they do the other side tho :(

Well it was 20 years ago when it happened to me. I believe needle technology has come a long way in that time. Whether that was the cause of my pain or it was the result of the cortizone itself is a mystery, because I wasn't going back to have another injection

Mine have to be done under anaestetic to make sure I don't move but mine go straight into my discs into my spine which I guess isn't a place you want to get wrong :wack: Was yours in back or shoulders? My brother in law recently had one in his shoulder funnily enough. Didn't work for him but he was told to give up wnaking and probably hasn't :D

I've never heard of hypodermic needle technology despite having 4 nurses and 3 paramedics as immedeate family or in laws at one point :wack:

I'll google it later

Unfotunately in your brother in laws case I honestly doubt he will ever recover after such a long and illustrious career

I think they have moved on the art of injecting painlessly in the last couple of decades.
I know that i can hardly feel the dentists injection, i actually want him to get the needle out (as i wont feel the ambush on my teeth)

They have managed to reduce the size of the needles from, as you say, scaffolding poles, to something that actually resembles the size of a needle :)

I had them on my bad knees and they hurt like fook but worked a treat
