Stage 3 turbo choice...

Hi Jez, in the process of a 'stage 3' CA build at the mo... Just a having a bit of a dilemma over turbo choice. I know the recommended turbo for stage 3 on a CA is the 28rs, but in the interests of 'future proofing' my build how would a .64 ar 2871r run on a generic stage 3 chip (running slightly lower than recommended boost) with a view to a later upgrade to bigger injectors and a custom map...

The 2871 would work ok, but it won't be ideal. You'd have to measure the AFR and check that the engine isn't detonating as you increase the boost.

You need a custom map to get the most from your setup.

Looks like I'm gonna get the 2871r and run it with the stage 3 map for the time being (keeping the boost very low, as short of a dyno run I've no way of checking the afr) then within the next couple of months, buy some denso 560cc injectors and book a custom mapping session with you :) I expect I'd stick my tools in the car, drive up with the 444's, fit the 560's at your premises if thats cool with you? I've also got a mate with a z32tt who's after a mapping sesh - suggested you :Plug: Would it be possible to book the mapping sessions back to back?
