Just flicked through the TV and seen this is on, never watched american football before but first off, the Ref has a microphone, why don't they have that over here? Seems a simple thing to do. Gets you right in the game then.
Might watch a bit of this now.

And refs in rugby have mics.
My cousin ran on the pitch at the start with one of the banners. Bitch has an awesome job. Works for playstation and get to meet so many famous people and do crap like the above. Her boss also couldnt make it to the game so gave her his 4 corperate tickets, which were retailing at $10,000 dollers each. Man I hate her lol

The only way I can disagree with the above is our accuracy of passing  Get one or 2 NFL quaterbacks in the mix and we might actually make some convincing passes and stable wins :wack:
The game last night was awesome...fact :)

Pansy version of rugby
I will rise to bite this one Martin & Sideways :no:
I played for 13 seasons up to International Level (Ireland ) including the GB Lions and Allstars and on a Saturday i played Rugby for fun along side 5 future Welsh internationals and a Welsh coach .
Its like trying to compare Front wheel Drive with Rear or 4 Wheel Drive :p

Clai :sxoc:
Im with Clai on this - Rugby is the pansy version of American Football. The fact you can hit people off the ball, from behind, by spearing them makes football far, far harder. The Linemen are basically repeatedly running into a brick wall for an hour. The guys are also bigger and in case you hadnt noticed wear big metal helmets and solid armour.
In Rugby youve got to have the ball in your hands to get hit. In american football there are 11 tackles going on at once, all the time.
What position did you play Clai??

Doc the helmets are either Fiberglass or High Impact Plastic with a Plastic Coated Steel Face Cage and a custom fit lining which can sometimes be inflated to the shape of your head
Spearing is a 15yrd Personal foul offense when the top of the helmet is used . Tackling using the front of the helmet is allowed :wack:If blocking you have to lead with your arms but then the head is allowed to make contact
I started at Centre but eventually moved to Left Guard with a bit of special teams thrown in (Tight End / Full Back on certain downs)
watched a bit.
to sumarise..........
all stand like statues, while one guy runs around
all hell breaks loose for 10 seconds
stop. replay it several times. get very excited.
go back into statue mode.
and the number of forward passes I saw was ridiculous, wasn't the ref even looking?
Dude, Im trying to make a point here .......... the helmets used to be made of metal and spearing (without using the helmet as the point of contact) is still legal - it sounds cool too. Dont let the facts get in the way of a good story ;) :D
I take it you were the flying Fullback for <5 yard rushes then?? Always impressive, if not always successful ;) :D
