Back again for 2010, we present another London Tunnel Run, inviting all Japanese car owners!
*** Note this is for Japanese cars only -no exceptions.. non Jap cars will be refused entry **
The run will kick off at Essex Arena (RM19 1AE) on Saturday 13th March from 9.30pm. Maps will be handed out on arrival to those who have pre-paid through the Just Giving site. There will be no entry to the site after 10.30pm.
Please register your attendance by visting www.justgiving.com/TunnelRunMarch2010 and donating your £5.00 entry fee. (Please put user name & club in the comments). Donations made via the Just Giving site will go direct to the nominated charity, Royal London Hospital Kidney Patients Association. This charity was chosen as one of our members who raised extra donations last time has had to undergo a transplant -so we thought it was a good way of showing our appreciation for their help last time!
In comments please put your club name & forum user name -nothing else! (this list will be used to hand out the route maps of the run on the night -there *may* be a limited number of maps on the night BUT this is NOT guaranteed).
-Please arrive at the arena at 9.30pm. PLEASE NOTE you should use the go kart track entrance to the arena. There will be a £1 cash charge entry fee on the gate to cover the arena hire costs.
-Payments for maps can only be taken up to 13:00 on 13th March on the Just Giving site. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER AFTER THIS TIME or you will not be included on the list of maps for us to allocate on the night! If you do not pay you are not guaranteed a map.
-Entry is £5 for a map (prepay on Just Giving) and £1 per person in cash on the gate to the arena on the night to cover the arena costs.
-This event is for Japanese cars only.. nothing else! There will be marshalls on the gate.
-Please remember to drive responsibly -anyone not doing so will be asked to leave the site.
-You will need to bring sat nav / London A-Z for when you get lost. A passenger / map reader is also a must!
Sky Insurance will be awarding two prizes on the night for the best turned out car of the evening. The prizes could be awarded to any Jap cars from Civics to Skylines... so get polishing!!! Prizes to be confirmed
Hope to see some of you there! Any questions let me know :) We had approx 300 cars from various different Jap car clubs along last time, so make sure you come along and be part of it and help raise some cash for a worthy cause!!

You'll need to be there by 9.30pm.. I'd always assume the M25 is going to be rubbish and try and give a bit more time than you think you'll need to get there, as it's on the other side of the M25, so quite a way :nod:

Nope... sorry strictly Jap cars only.. we have to say this otherwise I'd end up having to say yes to jap bikes and then 'my mates beemer' etc... Always get so many people asking if they can bring this and that makes it alot easier and fairer to say Jap cars only :nod:

I'd deffo recommend coming along!! It's a seriously awesome night, that despite all the stress & panic of organising I always really enjoy it :D
All I would say though is that if you do decide to go make sure you bring a passenger / map reader.. it's impossible to navigate the route and drive, and it's not too much fun getting lost in London on your own! Oh.. and bring a sat nav!! :)

The other thing you could do, is if you just want to come to the meet, turn up, pay your £1 on the door and then don't do the run.. it's not far for you to go just to do that if you're already in Essex :)

Back again for 2010, we present another London Tunnel Run, inviting all Japanese car owners!
The run will kick off at Essex Arena (RM19 1AE) on Saturday 13th March from 9.30pm. Maps will be handed out on arrival to those who have pre-paid through the Just Giving site. There will be no entry to the site after 10.30pm.
There *may* be a limited number of maps on the night BUT this is NOT guaranteed.
Payments for maps can only be taken up to 13:00 on 13th March on the Just Giving site. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER AFTER THIS TIME or you will not be included on the list of maps for us to allocate on the night! If you do not pay you are not guaranteed a map.
Entry is £5 for a map (prepay on Just Giving) and £1 per person in cash on the gate to the arena on the night to cover the arena costs.

well back after another great night! lost most people by the end so just decided to call it a night. Highlight for me was the night club bouncer in the Tooley St Tunnels shouting shut up to me as all the cars were revving and beeping! :thumbs:
i went in the scooby ra edition, saw lots of 200sx's made me wich i'd kept mine lol. Wasn't all that imo but at least it was for a good cause.

just got back home again, got a bit lost with Dave270R, Rastamanblues and def, but we had fun, didn't get to tdo the tooley street tunnels as they were so blocked, so we went hooning over tower bridge instead :D
S13 was very well behaved, only thing for concern is that I only used about 1/3 of a tank of fuel for the 200 mile trip I did tonight, I think the gauge must be broken :wack: and no I wasn't driving like a gheyer :ghey: well I was for bits of it, but only cause you couldn't do anything for the traffic :rolleyes:

awsome night!!! well done to all involved! got in at 6am after it all going to plan par one or two occasions when i missed roads lol.
highlight ( amoungst many) was going in that deep tunnel ( Kings sumit) and having an evo fly up my ass. i tried to boot it away and the car flung sideways and its a single lane road. i am no drifters! got away with it thanks fook. hung for a fair while though!
think we missed a few of the tunnels, due to getting lost a few times. personally think there should have been meeting points at various locations to let all the cars to group up again. as we found most of the locations had hardly any cars there compared to how many were at essex arena.
wasnt as good as the last couple of tunnel runs imo. at least we raised a fair bit of money for a good cause.

Was a really good night, cant believe how many riceburners where in the carpark!! Alot of beautiful cars out and some "bonkers" loud exhausts lol.
I only made it to the end of the 2nd tunnel as my battery shorted out and set on fire :eek: and i melted my fingers trying to put it out :mad: !!!!
Massive thanks to all those who stopped and tried to help me out, really appreciated it. :thumbs:

Hopefully those cameras weren't too watchful on tower bridge. The average ones on the A13 are just under test at the mo and won't be switched on til summer so my drive to work along there will take longer. :(

Mate that's rubbish! - Doubtful whether busses were even running at that time yet they've still got a traffic nazi on the cameras... arse!
Still sh1tting myself everyday when the post comes, sure I'm waiting on at least one ticket from so many sneaky cameras in stupid 20 limits... Cameras & the 5 billion pot holes were the only downsides of another otherwise great evening!
Anyone else see the vehicle check near the eye including a roadside emissions test setup?

Was parked more than 2 hours at the services waiting for people... so parking ticket.. they can get fcuked.. I was in the services & spent money in there..

Nightmare Lou, seems to have been a weekend of profiteering from fines!
Got a parking ticket at the weekend too if it's any consolation... only £35 though, but still a pain in the rear!
Been an expensive week with that and exploding coolant hoses. Hopefully there's no speeding fine to make it 3 bad things!!!
