View Full Version : potentially stupid PC question!

Is it possible to use a desktop PC but turn it on its side? Only reason I can think to not do this is the CD drive but maybe there's reasons the hard drives need to be up right?

Only one side of my desktop has vents on it so obviously I'd lay it on the non-vented side.

Think this may be a stupid question but you don't find out if you don't ask lol!

Go for it. Most cd drives have lips on the trays to hold the disk in.

^^^ as above, it should be fine. Just to be safe though, don't tilt it onto it's side whilst it's switched on ;)

The CD drive can be a pain sometimes like this, but it won't cause a problem with the actual reading of the discs

If you do move it and it doesnt work afterwards then some of the cards (like video card) may have moved out of there slot with the disturbance. Just push em back in.

Tip it onto the side where the motherboard is so if anything, gravity will be keeping your cards in.
