View Full Version : Recommended ISPs
Ticali are really starting to get on my nerves, I'm not at all happy with their service.
SO who would you recommend going to? I can't get broadband coz I live in a stupid place, and want an anytime package. Pref NOT BT...
What do you guys think, as I understand you use the interweb a little?
I use AOL when not in the office for the 'tinternet' -
Everything about AOL is cr4p, stupid sofware etc etc but all is forgiven because they allow you to Dialup from anywhere, no specific numbers like Freeserve and they have no timeout
Ive left my laptop on downloading for over 16 hours with no timeout, cutoff
I've used tiscali, bt, plus net and virgin in the past, now on freeserve and it is the best of them all imo (dialup, no bb here yet :( )
I found Highstream a few months back. They cut you off after 10mins inactivity or 2hours regardless, but you can dial back up again straight away.
It limits downloads to under 2hours at 56k but doesn't matter to me.
£10 a month anytime.
Don't tell anyone else though or it'll start slowing down.
Zen and Nildram are often highly praised. :)

Im with Freeserve for my modem account... but will be moving to Elipse for my Broadband...
1stnet.co.uk are the first UK ISP to provide support for V.92 modems... but dont do an anytime package yet...
