Was reading Car magazine at work today (busy as I was) and stumbled across the story about the new S2000 series that will help rejuvinate the WRC. Have a look at this:

A video of the reveal I haven't watched yet:

It's probably been posted before but it's new to me. Should put some much needed life into the series.

Also Ford aren't the first to produce an S2000 car, Peugeot, Skoda, Proton and Fiat have had them for a couple of years (well the proton is new) and prob some more I can't recall off the top of my head

I never said they were the first mate, just that they're in there now. The pics work fine on my machine but click the bottom link and you'll see them all :)

Are these still 2litre turbo, 4wd?

Or the crappy 1.6T, or even worse 2 litre NA?

Looks nice though.

There was a time when a fwd 2 litre n/a Citroen Xsara won a WRC round, beating all the turbo'd 4wd cars

S2000's a 2.0 litre N/A and 4wd. No active Diffs so they'll go sideways, if they have the power! Should bring more of the Drivers abilities into the equation though. May lose some of the spectacle in the process.

Not dennying that NA/ FWD etc can be very quick, but I like the popping and banging of the turbo cars.

The reduced torque will have a massive effect on the driving styles!

2.0 Pinto on Twin 45's hmmmmmmmmmm

2.0 Zetec on Throttle Bodies hmmmmmmmmm

Sorry but I have seen a pinto powered Mk2 Escort slaughter Evo's and Subaru's on tarmac, in the right hands they can be a lot quicker than the 4WD Turbo's
