Right, Im bored of having shit phones that never work.

Have an N95 8GB and its done (speaker doesnt work anymore so i need to speak to everyone on loudspeaker)

I want a media phone as I like photos and vids also youtube/ other media site access is what im looking for.

Are there any websites that actually rate phones rather than sell them?

I like the look of the Sony Satio or whatever its called. just wanna find reviews to see if they are any good?!?!?

Cheers

The Satio's have experienced a lot of problems mate - I wouldn't go for one of those till they are sorted.

For media applications and camera I'd definitely recommend a touchscreen phone as the screens are much bigger and allow easy web viewing.

I ended up with an LG Viewty Smart (8mp cam, wifi, 3g+, b/t, GPS and so on - pretty much everything you could want on a phone) but alternatives you could look at include the LG Arena, Samsung Omnia HD and Tocco Ultra, Nokia 5800 and N97 Mini, HTC touch HD. And so on.

I wouldn't suggest an iphone if you want decent pics. Poxy little 3.2mp camera :wack: Only 3-4 years behind everyone else! They seem to have a reasonable browser though. Hold on. There was an interesting article I found a while ago...Will dig it out.

As PR200SX so eloquently put it, www.gsmarena.com covers pretty much every handset ever made and does have good reviews etc on many phones. Have a look ;) Or give me a bell and I could suggest a few.

edit: here it is :wack: iphone users have 'Stockholm Syndrome' (http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/mobile_exec/news.aspx?id=62558&terms=iphone+stockholm) Well worth a read :D Makes me lol every time I read it and think about the poor deluded fanbwoi's lauding their beloved inferior products :wack:

A couple of my fave bits:

Simply put, Apple has launched a beautiful phone with a fantastic user interface, which has had a number of technological shortcomings that many iPhone users have accepted and defended, despite those shortcomings resulting in limitations in iPhone users’ daily lives.

‘It is a good phone, these problems are due to the operators’ networks and not the handset.’
Now how :wack: is that last comment!!! How is it the networks issue?!

Cheers guys..

I really like the Iphone for the apps and internet. It feels so smooth to use and very ironed out.

BUT I actually do use my phone for photos and vids. The camera on my nokia is surprisingly good at getting very clear pics when riding (something my sony camera isnt lol) no blur just a nice crisp image shot in sport setting:)

I also just found the samsung website, looking at their HD range look like something very appealing:thumbs:

I was also just gonna message you teggers as youre a man in the know:) I may be giving you a shout to get out of my 3 contract and get a decent phone and plan:) Also are there any networks that are better than others, or pretty much all the same, (on 3 and i just hate having to repeat myself over and over to the call centres in India, nothing against them, just that somethinges there is a bit of a language barrier:))

personally Tmobile. good service, good contracts.

and I'm a "mini laptop" type person myself, so, HTC based pocket PC with slide out qwerty keypads have been my last 3 phones, just can't find something else to replace the Vario. I know it has an average camera, but I have a compact 10mp samsung camera that goes most places with me, so the diddy camera on the phone is not an issue.

I always check GSMarena before deciding what my next phone will be.
