Do a search for YLOD fix on the net.

i fixed mine, it went on christmas day.
You are aware that sony will send you a refurbed one for about 160 quid? and that if you attempt to fix it yourself that you may invalidate the warranty seal and therefore sony wont honour the refurb?

basically the YLOD appears to be caused by 1 of 2 things, the hard drive overheats or the CPU and GPU chips overheat and dry solder joints form.

to reset the hard drive you simply remove it and replace it, this may cure it but if not you have to strip the console right down and heat up the two chips in an effort to reliquify the solder and in effect resolder the chips to the board.

this is the guide i used to fix mine. I found it to be very step by step and really easy to follow, i also didnt have a heat gun handy so used a hairdryer on maximum heat with a nossle as close to the chips as i could for about 10-15 mins.
