well clutch started slipping today if i bring the turbo on boost

i thought it didnt have much life left in it when i bought the car but all the pissing about in the snow getting stuck and rocking the car on the clutch has ****ed it.

so looking for recomendations for a clutch kit.

running stock power just now but will be looking to upgrade later in the year.

How far are you planning on taking the power?

I would recommend an exedy paddle 6 puck, that should do you reliably up to 350hp and it's pretty cheap compared to the organic clutches rated around the same £350 vs around £500 when I was looking

Do you have the 6 puck ? How easy is it to drive with (stop-go traffic?). How many miles has it lasted you so far ?

I doubt I'll have the power above 300

i presume im ordering a SR20DET clutch kit as theres no differance between the sr20 in the 180 and the uk s14

Stick to an organic, RPS street max or ACT extreme. These clutches are rated to around 450 lbft so more than enough and will be a more similar feel to the standard.

skim the standard flywheeel and fit a rps max street organic clutch, can't really go wrong with them

Gary I have a spare 180 flywheel if you need work done on it before you attempt it.

I have a 6 puck paddle in my 180, theres no denying it they are harsh for stop-go but stand up to way more abuse.

And yes just order the sr20det one

im running a Spec 6 puch stage 3 in my 180.its good for up to 400bhp and is more driveable than most other 6 puch clutches since it uses a different friction pad material.the clutch pedal ain't any heavier than standard either.

another +1 for the RPS max street organic.

no harsh biting point and it'll take good power!

the harsh biting is all down to the springs on the pressure plate

some plates don't have springs :D
is it not to do with the clamping force of the cover too?
thought it'd be a bit of both myself? :)

Clamping force more I would have thought. Anyway, people who say paddles are awkward are just :ghey: That is unless you buy one which has a rating of 1 billion ft/lb

i'm not saying they're awkward, maybe just a little bit of overkill for most.
i had a silly clutch in the skyline, because it needed one. I've had organics / paddles in cars that called for them.

the V8's getting a normal clutch and if that thing doesn't need a paddle clutch, nothing does :D
